JOSE MARI CHAN<br />

Jose Mari Chan, in his 55 years of being a singer-songwriter-recording artist in the Philippines, holds the<br />

distinction of being the biggest selling artist in the country, having recorded 14 albums and the holder of<br />

several Platinum awards in sales.<br />

Notably he is the only Philippine recording artist with 3 Diamond Record Awards in sales where a Diamond<br />

Record is equivalent to 10 Platinum Awards in sales. His first recording “Afterglow” was released in 1967<br />

followed by a series of top hits which include such classics as “Deep in My Heart”, “Refrain”, “ Tell Me Your<br />

Name”, “ Beautiful Girl”, “Constant Change”, “Please Be Careful with My Heart”, “Hahanapin Ko”<br />

“A Love to Last A Lifetime”, “Love at 30,000 Feet” and many others. His biggest perennial sellers are his<br />

“Christmas In Our Hearts” and “A Perfect Christmas” which continue to define the Yuletide Season in the<br />

Philippines all these 32 years.<br />

Jose Mari also wrote several music scores for Philippine movies and Jose Mari Chan’s songs have been recorded<br />

by artists in Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and in the United States. In 1974, he was named<br />

one of the 10 Outstanding Young Men of the Philippines in the field of arts. As a concert performer, Jose<br />

Mari performed at the Carnegie Hall in New York, the Bellagio in Las Vegas and other prestigious halls in<br />

Tokyo, London, Vienna, Zurich, Paris, Toronto, and in other metro areas around the world.


THE PHILIPPINE MEISTERSINGERS<br />

The Philippine Meistersingers (formerly the AUP<br />

Ambassadors), is one of the most active and<br />

respected choirs in the world. They garnered the<br />

coveted title, “Choir of the World 2011” in the 2011<br />

Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, receiving<br />

the Luciano Pavarotti Trophy. With this award, in<br />

2012 they received a Philippine Congressional Proclamation<br />

recognizing their contribution to Philippine<br />

music and culture. Along with many other international<br />

awards, they are also a national recipient of<br />

the 2012 Ani ng Dangal Awards for Music given at<br />

the Malacanang Palace.<br />

The Philippine Meistersingers are very active in the<br />

music ministry, giving concerts and lectures on<br />

singing and choral music around the world. They<br />

have ministered throughout the Philippines, Asia,<br />

Canada, USA, UAE, United Kingdom, and Europe.<br />

The director, Ramon “Bojo” Molina Lijauco, Jr. is an<br />

international vocal and choral consultant. He is<br />

based both in the Philippines and Thailand, conducting<br />

another internationally awarded choir, The<br />

Suanplu Chorus. He has lectured and gave speeches<br />

around the world. He has degrees in Nursing,<br />

Music Education, and a Masters of Music in Choral<br />

Conducting (Summa Cum Laude). He is now finishing<br />

his Doctor of Music in Choral Conducting. He<br />

is the recipient of the 2020 Jayne Davis Prize (Most<br />

Outstanding Conductor) in Wales, United Kingdom,<br />

and the 2020 Ani Ng Dangal for Music given at the<br />

Malacañang Palace.<br />

ROBERT “BOB” SHRODER, FASO Musical Director & Conductor<br />

A founding musical director and conductor Robert Shroder grew up in the musical and historic town<br />

of Kawit in the Philippines. His first music teacher was his grandfather, Augusto R. Samaniego Sr., the<br />

conductor of the local Magdalo Band and a member of the world-renowned Philippine Constabulary Band.<br />

Shroder studied flute performance at the University of the Philippines Conservatory of Music under the<br />

tutelage of Enrique Barcelo. He later concentrated in chamber music and conducting under Reynaldo<br />

Paguio and Leopoldo Lopez. Shroder also attended extensive conducting workshops and master classes<br />

with former Manila Symphony Orchestra conductor Helen Quach. Pianist and conductor of the Deutsche<br />

Oper Berlin Lorenzo Palomo, and award-winning violinist and chamber music conductor Christoph Poppen.<br />

While in college, Shroder was principal flutist of the Philippine Youth Orchestra under the baton of Sergio<br />

Esmilla Jr. Due to his impressive academic standing at the University of the Philippines, he was invited to<br />

join the Mu Phi Epsilon International Music Fraternity . This distinguished fraternity was brought to major<br />

Philippine music institutions by National Artist of the Philippines Lucrecia Kasilag. In 1982, Shroder won the<br />

National Music Competition for Young Artists grand prize at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. He became<br />

principal flutist of the Manila Symphony Orchestra, the oldest symphony orchestra in Asia and where<br />

he auditioned and was hired right after his graduation recital, and the Manila Chamber Orchestra, where<br />

he was a member until immigrating to the United States. In Los Angeles, he was the founding conductor<br />

of the Boyle Heights Youth Symphony. Shroder was also the first Filipino- American in the symphony, which<br />

was founded in 2002.

FELSON PALAD is an award winning singer-songwriter. He is the<br />

Best Male Gospel Singer of the Year 2021 in Asia Pacific Luminaire and the<br />

20th Annual Gawad Amerika Awards Night. He has been singing for many<br />

years from the Philippines, Israel, and other parts of the world and now in<br />

the US. He has collaborated with Gospel Artists like Don Moen, Tommy Walker,<br />

Lenny LeBlanc, and many more. He is very familiar with different walks of life<br />

and can story-tell with his choice of songs on top of the usual melodies we<br />

hear. His genres of choice when singing to are Jazz, standards, RnB, some<br />

Country Music, and some classic opera songs.<br />

DEB VICTA is a singer/songwriter most known for her stint on The<br />

Voice Of The Philippines S1 (Team Bamboo). These days, if she is not writing,<br />

recording or singing at events, there’s a high chance she’s at home being a<br />

wife and a mom. You can typically catch her on a Friday night at any one of<br />

your favorite Filipino restaurants around LA. Or listen to her original music on<br />

your favorite streaming platform! She is currently based in Portland, OR and<br />

is excited to be sharing the stage once more with FASO and fellow artists for<br />

this tribute concert.<br />

IRENE CASTILLO is a senior at Indiana University pursuing a<br />

Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance with Professor Mark Kaplan at the<br />

Jacobs School of Music. A recipient of the Premier Young Artist scholarship,<br />

she began violin lessons at age four with her mother, Agnes Miranda. Irene<br />

previously studied with Jasmine Lin of the Formosa Quartet.<br />

She has performed with the National Youth Orchestra of the USA at Carnegie<br />

Hall, the Tanglewood Music Festival and throughout Germany and Amsterdam.<br />

She has been a student at the Merit School of Music and concertmaster<br />

of the Merit Philharmonic for five years. She is a multi awarded performer,<br />

chamber musician and orchestra member.<br />

In addition to her musical studies at IU, Irene is pursuing a Bachelor of Science<br />

in Biology, and she is a research assistant at the Drosophila Genomics<br />

Resource Center at Indiana University.<br />

Irene performs on a one-hundred-year-old German violin from her late<br />

grandfather, UP Chemistry Professor Ben Miranda, and is honored to be<br />

playing one of his favorite pieces, Abelardo’s Cavatina, with FASO.


STAZY REOMA is a signed talent of Impact Talent Group in Hollywood.<br />

She made several appearances in various commercials for Nickelodeon and<br />

Walmart, and appeared in an independent short film called “Lemon Halves”<br />

and “Kidiotest” TV show on GSN Network. Stazy is humbled to perform for the<br />

second time at the prestigious Walt Disney Concert Hall with FASO. She takes<br />

great pride not just in her artistic talents but also in all her academic achievements.<br />

She is a consistent Honors student who graduated Salutatorian at St.<br />

George Catholic School during her middle school and received the Highest<br />

Honors award and multiple college scholarship awards after graduating from<br />

South Hills High School. She recently finished her first year at the University of<br />

California Irvine and made it to the “Dean’s Honors List”. She praises and thank<br />

God for all her success, and honors her family who has always supported her<br />

aspirations and endeavors. She is also grateful to FASO for the opportunity to<br />

share her vocal talents. She hopes to continue celebrating her Filipino heritage<br />

through her musical artistry and academic achievements in the years to<br />

come.<br />

ARDYANNA is 9-year-old with a passion for music. She enjoys playing<br />

piano, guitar, singing, and composing her own songs. She keeps herself active<br />

by biking, swimming, and playing basketball. Part of the Gifted and Talented<br />

school program, she is also a High Honor Roll student and has been a member<br />

of God Faith Choir since she was 6 yrs old. She is a recording artist who recently<br />

released an album of songs she composed. As a national TV commercial<br />

and film actress, she has received many awards. She has performed with<br />

Filipino singers Rachel Alejandro, Luke Mejares, Nina, Jaya, and Jay-R and is the<br />

recipient of Spotlight Award <strong>2022</strong> for Excellence in Entertainment as the Best<br />

Child Artist of the Year. Her debut musical show entitled Ardyanna & Friends<br />

with her original compositions will soon become a series. Her aspiration in life<br />

is to make a difference in the world by touching people’s lives through music.<br />

IESHA PRECIOUS RINGOR is a Filipino-American singer,<br />

actress, and writer who resides in Los Angeles, CA. Ringor is currently pursuing<br />

a Masters degree at University of Southern California, with research geared<br />

toward educational equity and Asian American socio-cultural communication<br />

norms. Her work has contributed to preliminary analysis of Filipino-American<br />

communication. Ringor has appeared in various indie film sets and theater<br />

shows, such as Hunchback of Notre Dame, Jesus Christ Superstar, and King<br />

and I. She is working on multiple projects which include releasing her first<br />

original song, publishing a book of poetry and writing music for an original<br />

musical.<br />

Passionate about advocacy work, she has been using her talents in raising<br />

funds for various non-profits, like Feeding America, RAINN, SoCal Vocalist Fund,<br />

Filipino Migrant Center, and FASO.
