We are working with local education providers to develop STEM talent pipelines in order to ensure that fresh and skilled talent are prepared to enter the industry in the future.” In 2022, Collins launched the ‘Enthuse’ partnership, which focuses on making STEM more accessible to women and underrepresented groups. “Our STEM learning initiative sees to support eight primary and secondary schools in the Wolverhampton area where STEM education is most needed over the next two years,” Herrmann added. Through the partnership, teachers will gain professional development and be encouraged to engage in STEM to achieve higher levels of achievement, especially among disadvantaged and underrepresented students. Collins is committed to investing in local jobs and people, shown through the continued support of apprentices, graduates, and industrial placement students every year. As of 2018, more than 76 apprentices, 39 graduates, and 45 industrial placements had been recruited, and that number continues to rise. 36 PROSPER SPRING 2023
