PRESIDENT’S WELCOME On behalf of the TMEA Board of Directors and Conference Planning Committee, welcome to the 64th Annual Tennessee Music Education Association Conference. We are excited to welcome music educators, music merchants, and student performers from across this great state for four incredible days of learning, sharing, and music making. All of this would not be possible without the generous support of our conference sponsors. Thank you for your contributions to our organization and for your commitment to supporting music in our schools so that all students have access to our programs. I always view our annual conference as a homecoming where friends and colleagues can come together to catch up, learn together, and develop new relationships. This comradery is essential to building a community of professionals where we feel strengthened and where iron sharpens iron. As you will see in this program, our Conference Planning Committee has tirelessly worked to provide opportunities to learn from highly knowledgeable and experienced presenters on essential topics targeted at improving and enhancing our quality of instruction. Our invited performance ensembles represent some of the finest music programs from diverse settings across the state. We have also assembled some of the most renowned conductors to work with our accomplished All-State student musicians, and you will have the opportunity to observe them practicing their craft in rehearsals as well as at the culminating concerts Friday evening and Saturday morning. Throughout the conference, we also invite you to spend time conversing with our vendors and exploring their programs and products in the exhibit hall. We hope you will find renewal and inspiration during this conference while enjoying the beauty of the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. It is our hope that you will return home inspired to implement new ideas and concepts you have been exposed to at this conference which will motivate you with the renewed energy and passion needed to successfully finish the academic year. Tennessee is blessed to have such highly qualified music teachers, talented students, and strong advocates and supporters of music.
