In order to summarize the basic performance of all important large rings, Table 1<br />

lists all relevant quantities from these instruments. Apart from area <strong>and</strong> perimeter,<br />

the key figures for the scaling factor, the table also lists the obtained Sagnac splitting<br />

of the optical frequency as well as the best short-term sensor resolution obtained<br />

from these devices. It should be noted that all rings are orientated horizontally on
