Exhibition catalog: Discourse of War
This exhibition is about the impact of the war on the lives and creative paths of artists in Ukraine and worldwide. We want to show how artists’ attitude to art has changed during this year. How changed the vector of their creativity and attitude to the language of art in connection with these events. War has no nationality or religion. War has an impact on everyone individually and on all of humanity in general. Our goal is to show how artists from different parts of the world perceive war. This is an art discourse between artists and viewers.

About artwork
This war makes no sense. The aggression was not provoked, the neighbour country went
crazy, all of it. I paint what I see, what makes me stop doing everything and sit down to
paint, trying to understand, why. But there’s no answer.
Про роботу
У цієї війни немає сенсу. Агресія не була спровокована, сусідня країна раптом
втратила глузд, цілком. Я малюю те, що бачу, що змушує мене кинути все і малювати,
намагаючись зрозуміти, чому. Але відповіді немає.
Моя бабуся працювала вчителькою української мови та літератури. У цій ізюмській
школі вона провела двадцять з гаком років, даючі знання кільком поколінням
слобожанок і слобожанців. Вона викладала літературу, а отже, розповідала
яскраві історії життя предків, формувала особистості і суспільство, яке зробить
світ краще. Її школяри давно виросли, але не всі з них зараз живі - сусідня країна
вбила багатьох, окупувавши місто. Розбомбила школу. Спалила книжки. Це не має
ніякого сенсу.
My grandmother was a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature. In this school in a
town called Izum, she spent over 20 years. She gave knowledge to several generations
of people of Slobozhanshina. She was teaching literature, means telling bright history
of our ancestors’ lives, forming personalities and the society, which will make the world
better. Her students have long grown up, but not all of them live - many were killed by
the neighbour country, the town was occupied. The school was bombed. The books were
burned. It doesn’t make sense.
