Exhibition catalog: Discourse of War

This exhibition is about the impact of the war on the lives and creative paths of artists in Ukraine and worldwide. We want to show how artists’ attitude to art has changed during this year. How changed the vector of their creativity and attitude to the language of art in connection with these events. War has no nationality or religion. War has an impact on everyone individually and on all of humanity in general. Our goal is to show how artists from different parts of the world perceive war. This is an art discourse between artists and viewers.

About artwork

War is like some kind of inevitable force, something moving towards you like an element, silent

and inescapable. Something indescribable, which causes fear and awe, which cannot be bypassed,

which must be passed through. Like a piglet in front of a snake, you stand and look into

its eyes, and they, like a mirror, reflect everything they see: pain, rage, fear, strength, despair,

hope, courage, fear, obsession, sacrifice, love, death, lust to life - everything is in these eyes, everything

that people go through, because everyone has their own limit state, their own mystical

night, their own entrance into their own hell, sometimes without a guarantee of exit.

This picture is a puzzle, it is full of references and semantic parallels, each image can be divided into

a separate plot, but they are all interconnected. It is impossible to fit into a flat picture all that multidimensional

chaos of destruction and transformation that war brings to our lives and our souls.

An orphaned and widowed soul hid in the darkness of war.

All in black, but alive. And no matter what horror is in front of the eyes, the soul knows that life

will still win!
