Exhibition catalog: Discourse of War
This exhibition is about the impact of the war on the lives and creative paths of artists in Ukraine and worldwide. We want to show how artists’ attitude to art has changed during this year. How changed the vector of their creativity and attitude to the language of art in connection with these events. War has no nationality or religion. War has an impact on everyone individually and on all of humanity in general. Our goal is to show how artists from different parts of the world perceive war. This is an art discourse between artists and viewers.

Watercolor on paper
In October 2022 russians attacked one more nuclear power station in the Mykolaiv region. A
video from a local camera had a big impact, like one more shocking point from thousands of
others that I will remember from this war. Because I’m from Mykolaiv, my grandparents live in
the Mykolaiv region, and my cousin lives and works near the nuclear power plant. That’s why it
touched me so.
This art is about fragility. How fragile is our system, how weak are we, and how delicate is nature?
I saw nuclear weapons tests on YouTube. One video also depicted gulls or sterns who were
shocked by the explosion. They rise into the air, and they don’t know what to do, they fly near the
beach. And they will die later. One second, invisible threat. Just a tiny moment that will change
everything.
