Performances
The Mzansi Tenors have been wowing audiences around
the country and now return for the FynArts Festival with
a programme curated for the sold-out season at Theatre
on the Bay.
The programme of famous tenor arias and South African
favourites also includes great tenor hits made famous by
Enrico Caruso, such as Santa Lucia, Granada, Ave Maria,
and a tribute to Caruso by Lucio Dalla – a fitting inclusion
in the year of the 150th anniversary of Enrico Caruso’s

From Passacaglia, Halvorsen’s ‘impossible duet’, to
Piazzolla’s Libertango, the eclectic Salt & Pepper Duo
is able to capture the beauty of famed arias and string
works, by way of fascinating arrangements.
Being versatile is one of the essential pillars on which
Salt & Pepper Duo is built, thus performing a range of
works from demanding repertoire for violin and viola
(written specifically for this somewhat unusual pairing
of instruments), to audience favourites.
Maja and Samantha have been playing together for over
fifteen years since first playing at youth orchestra courses
from a young age. They are now both professional
musicians based in Cape Town. The duo has performed
at venues such as Erin Hall, the Baxter Concert Hall, and
St George’s Cathedral.
