The art of wine starts with the interaction of farming and culture – it’s in the very name: viticulture.
This is the ancient practice of working with the vine and learning how best to capture the gifts
of its grapes.
Then the art of wine is elaborated and expressed through the craft of winemaking, another
celebrated human pursuit that goes back thousands of years but is still alive with expression
and development. Join us as we explore the art of wine in three tastings – the ‘Art of the Vine’,
the ‘Art of the Blend’ and ‘Wine and the Senses’.
Each session will be a pleasurable surprise and take you home really thinking about wine.

his audience
to the amazing heritage vineyards
of the Cape, and a tasting of
their wines.

Mark will explore
the artistry
of blending
through
a deep-dive
into their white
blend called
Riebeecksrivier Caroline, which is
made up of five different grape
varieties.
Jacques is the
winemaker at
Black Elephant
Vintners and
will take us
through their
delightful wine
and music
pairing, which
will illustrate
the role of all the senses in wine.
