FynArts 2023 - Booklet

The purpose of the FynArts Development Fund is to initiate, or identify and support projects which are in line with
our Constitution and core disciplines. Among the objectives of these projects is to promote forms of self-expression
and to support the development of skills that will lead to employment in some form – whether self-employed or
through a third party.
We are delighted to have entered into an informal collaboration with Warwick’s Chef School and Core Catering
Supplies for the launch of this exciting initiative by the Chef School. Grade 12 learners at all schools in the Overberg
will be invited to take part in this competition.
‘The Warwick’s Chef School Aspiring Chef of the Year Competition, is a chance for high school learners in
the Overberg to showcase their ‘Art on a Plate’. It is important to inspire our young local individuals to get excited
about Hermanus as a Culinary Hub, and put their attention on the hospitality industry opportunities in our area.
The main sponsor is Core Catering Supplies, and the winner of this competition will be cooking in the FynArts
demonstration kitchen – where passion for cooking is shared with others.’
The winner of this first competition will showcase their skills in the Pop-up Kitchen at the United Church,
appropriately on Youth Day, 16 June.
