An Upcycle/Recycle/Reclaim mixed
medium workshop for adults
to explore the often elusive, but
entirely magical source of creativity.
Generate authentic content, subject
matter and creative tools with
artist and award-winning curator,
Alex Hamilton, and trick your mind
out of a rut by using so-called
rubbish.
Stay visually current, combining
storytelling, science and uninhibited
creativity. This workshop will spark
the fire that burns down the box
which artists have always been
credited to be thinking outside of.
Create a unique design with funky
fabrics and colours, using patterns
which will be provided by Dal, an
accredited quilt teacher and regional
quilt judge with the South African
Quilters’ Guild. Add texture and
interest with creative stitching,
beads and embroidery.
This workshop is about having fun
with fabrics and stitches. The project
can be done using a sewing machine
or by hand, or students may use both.
Relax as you create small, colourful
pieces that may be used in many
ways.
The third in a series of three related
writing workshops. Attend them
individually or sign up for all three.

Not only does journaling record one’s
thoughts, it can also be the seedbed
for future writing projects.
