Workshops
You don’t need large expensive vases and
armfuls of flowers to make an impact.
Susan of Lilly Rose Florist in Hermanus
will show you how to add charm and
ambience to any room by arranging
a modest bunch of flowers in unusual
containers.
Instead of throwing out that old teapot,
wine bottle or trophy turn them into
quirky vases. Even a recycled food tin and
a few delicate flowers can be transformed
into a unique, inexpensive gift.
Containers will be provided but
participants are also encouraged to have
some fun by bringing their own.
Venue: The WIne Glass
Tickets: R585 | R550 (early bird)
incl light lunch
2-day workshop
The aim of this two-day workshop
is to help artists define their goals
and boost their output. Guided by
Hermanus-based artist Carl, you will
look at practical ways to improve oil
painting technique. He will also
discuss marketing one’s work, the
pros and cons of the art market,
and how artists influence one
another and arrive at an identity.
Carl will share his insights
garnered from interacting with
several contemporary painters
about their work. This workshop
is for artists of any level.
Venue: Abalone Lodge,
306 Main Road
Tickets: R1 100 | R950 (early bird)
incl light lunch
The first in a series of three related
writing workshops. Attend them
individually or sign up for all three.
‘For any writer who wants to keep
a journal, be alive to everything,
not just what you’re feeling
but also to your pets, to flowers,
to what you’re reading….’
(May Sarton).
In this workshop you’ll examine
approaches to keeping a journal
and ways to commit to journal
writing. Part practical and part
theory.
