Join illustrator/cartoonist Gavin
for a relaxing, fun, and interactive
workshop where you’ll learn how
to draw cartoons in only one day.
The workshop will cover a variety
of topics including cartoon styles,
materials, backgrounds, sound
effects and how to create your
own comic character.
Gavin is the co-creator of
several comic strips, including
Treknet which appears daily in
newspapers across South Africa.

Create wearable art medallions
from beach plastic collected
on local beaches that would
otherwise pollute our open
spaces and be harmful to marine
life.
Enjoy using found plastic in
a variety of shapes, sizes and
colours to create your pieces.
All materials will be provided.
Multi-disciplinary artist Nastasha will show
you what plants can be used for colourfast
dyes and how to create them. You will also
learn how to make your own natural inks
with organic plant waste and flowers,
and use them to create beautiful artworks.
Decorate and personalise your own naturally
dyed 100% cotton tote bag with botanical
inks and mineral modifiers. Play with natural
colour on paper and watch colours magically
shift before your eyes. Participants will receive
a small workbook on the basics of natural
dyeing to take home.
You don’t need to be creative or have any
artistic skills to enjoy this workshop.
A curiosity for colour and nature is all
you need.
