Mind through
Materials
Angus Taylor
‘Throughout the past 25 years I have
come to realise how important
it is for me to deeply engage with
materials and to create artworks
that function as markers or ‘journal
notes’ for me. They remind me of
the many routes I have walked,
physically and mentally, and
the various decisions I have made
throughout my life, both as an artist
and in my personal life.’
Angus is well known for his
powerful, often large, works of
sculpture, characterised by
outstanding craftsmanship and
the use of alternative and natural
materials from his direct
environment.
Sculpting this Earth
Victor van Aswegen
and Strijdom van der Merwe
Over four consecutive seasons
artist Strijdom van der Merwe travels
to remote locations in the Southern
African interior to make beautiful
works of land art in a striking range
of spectacular natural settings.
This new film from Victor van
Aswegen, director of the
internationally award-winning
documentary, Displaced, is the
first feature-length documentary
about land art from the Southern
Hemisphere.
Sculpting this earth is a moving
