in March 2018.
In between these years she had
conversations with many thousands
of guests on a number of radio
shows: Woman Today/Otherwise,
SAfm Literature and The Enviro-Show.
Join Nancy for her journey in
which there was also a great deal
of learning.
This year 2023, South Africa
celebrates 100 years of radio.

The Grootbos
Florilegium
Vicki Thomas and Colleen Naudé
Vicki, well-known botanical artist, will
offer her personal view of taking part
in the Grootbos Florilegium project,
documented with slides from
its conception, through the gathering
of artists and their artworks, to the
eventual launch of the book and
seeing the works hung in the
purpose-built Hannarie Wenholdt
Botanical Art Gallery.
She will also explain, from an artist’s
point of view, the process of
choosing and depicting the plant
in its art form.
Colleen, seasoned journalist, and
Vicki will share anecdotes, memories
and highlights of the Florilegium
project.

Letters.
The benefits of keeping a journal are
legion – to process thoughts, harvest
memories, record history and
practise writing. If they were still
alive, you would only have to ask
Samuel Pepys, Anne Frank or
Nelson Mandela, to name a few.
But the art of writing letters, from
one heart to another, has value
on another level – for both writer
and recipient. Should these lost
communication skills be revived?
