This preference was vividly demonstrated
in a recent fMRI study in which
researchers showed seventeen Americans
and seventeen Japanese pictures of
men in dominance poses (arms crossed,

on the ground) and subordinate positions

protectively over groin, legs squeezed

dominant pictures activated pleasure
