Residential Subdivision Development
Restoration Nation is passionate about architectural design. We use extensive research
and customer feedback to ensure our home designs are always evolving resulting in
home designs that promote modern living. We also build with the latest energy efficient
construction materials, using cutting edge methods to deliver comfortable, eco-friendly
homes. Restoration Nation is extensively creating new models and designs of the next
generation of homes so that we can provide the best lifestyle for our clients.
Multi-Family and Condominiums
Demand for rental living has been rising in the U.S., and thus the demand for multifamily
housing has also been increasing. Since most multifamily properties are located in
or near big cities, multifamily living attracts buyers who work in the city or enjoy the
attractions that these metropolises offer. And as apartment home ownership becomes more
popular, multifamily amenities and features continuously are evolving to attract more
buyers. All of these variables checklists when Restoration Nation operates.
Office Buildings
Office buildings should provide a suitable and adequate workspace for employees to
deliver at their full potential. From feasibility study to design to construction completion,
we provide a smooth development process with tools and analyses that give you cost and
schedule certainty every step of the way. With an early, ongoing and comprehensive view
of your project, you can be confident in your decisions at each stage. It is our priority to
house your ideas along with the industries latest advancements.
QSR Restaurants, Fine Dining Restaurants, & Retail Centers
We have worked with and serviced many Major fast food chains, Fine Dining
Restaurants, and REITs to build the environments they thought out on paper. Our services
don’t start or end with only construction, we tailor our services from assistance in
planning to coordination with teams involved. These are extremely exciting projects when
it is done with the right partners. Your restaurant is going to create live environment that
will make customers return, this is the most common element missing when building.
Property Restoration
Restoration Nation started as a restoration company, its in or DNA. When it comes to
your property restoration; whether it be Fire, Water, Smoke, or Storm damage; you can
rest assured that we are experts in remediating all situations. Our testing technology is
one of the few tools along with extensive experience that sets Restoration Nation apart.
Restoration is not a simple fix as your property must be restored properly to ensure it does
not happen again, after-all that is the goal.
Property Maintenance
Restoration Nation has made, learned, and adapted to major changes in the industry.
Property Maintenance is a serious concern where most property owners and management
companies have problems. Since we know the full cycle of a building from when it
is built to when it is repaired or restored at one point in it’s lifecycle, we can create
attainable solutions for your property to sustain its purpose. We work with your values in
mind, no matter what the circumstances may be.
industry. DigiBuild’s software suite helps solve the industry’s biggest pain
points, including supply chain and material management, payments, and
risk management.
There are five major ways that DigiBuild can help you:
1. DigiBuild helps companies find, order, and track materials for their
construction projects. They also aid in managing budgets and tracking
materials to ensure that projects are completed on time and within
budget. DigiBuild’s software also captures data to provide insights to
improve processes.
THE SUPPLIER DILEMMA
How many suppliers should you have? One … two … more?
It’s a question you can’t avoid and one that directly impacts your bottom
line.
Suppliers play a central role in the success of your construction business
and your ability to grow profits. So, finding ways to establish and manage
those relationships is vital.
A good supplier will provide high-quality products at a good price and
at the right time. They will be a partner to help find better options when
supply chain disruptions occur or when product availability changes. In
other words, they can either make or break your business.
Because of that, you need a supplier management process that gives you
the ability to reliably partner with the best sources for your construction
needs. Your supplier management process goes further than just choosing
the right vendor. It outlines the process of building trust with suppliers
and improving on the services they provide. It means establishing and
maintaining good relationships. It helps the
supplier, who exists outside your business, to feel like they’re part of the
team and that your business values them. It helps you have a seamless,
trusted relationship that motivates the supplier to provide excellent
service.
Having a single supplier for each category for each item on your project
would make that goal much easier.
A single-supplier strategy means you are making a commitment to
purchase a given resource from just one supplier. If the supplier is wellmatched
and reliable, it can make establishing relationships and trust
easier. It can also help bring down costs through economies of scale. It can
make selections and deliveries more efficient through familiarity.
But relying on a single source also exposes you to risk. If your supplier
doesn’t have a strong cash flow, they may not be able to deliver what
you want, when you need it … or be able to keep up with the pace of
your supply needs. Worse, they could go out of business putting your
whole project in jeopardy. They could also fail to bring in critical supplies
in the event of a disaster, like a major storm or a fire, that disrupts their
operations.
So, when crafting an optimal supply chain strategy, it’s important to
balance the benefits and efficiencies that come with single suppliers with
the need to reduce risk with multiple suppliers. That means buying from
a carefully targeted, select group. With a smaller group of suppliers, you’ll
be able to have more control over your supply process. Your company will
become more valuable to the suppliers because of the amount of business
you give them. And you’ll be more likely to make deals that give you an
extra competitive advantage.
Your portfolio of suppliers should be large enough to ensure the supply
chain has the capacity and flexibility to easily furnish the needs of your
project, while not having so many that the complexity impairs tracking,
communication, or quality control.
That’s where DigiBuild can give you the right balance. DigiBuild is a
software solution built from the ground up by people who know the
construction industry to specifically meet the needs of the construction
2. DigiBuild provides visibility into material pricing and lead times to
make ideal development and
design choices. This helps companies save money in the short and long
term.
3. DigiBuild monitors and procures subcontractors and suppliers
to ensure that materials are ordered on time and within budget for
specification. DigiBuild tailors the needs of each customer, depending on
whether the general contractor self-performs and self-procures or has
subs that do the ordering.
4. DigiBuild provides workflow management for all project development
and construction workflows, including contracts, field reports, payments,
and RFIs.
5. DigiBuild can also provide turnkey furniture, fixtures, and equipment
(FFE) solutions. This involves ordering and installing FFE for owners,
particularly for hotel builders who require the service.
DigiBuild’s services are designed to help companies increase their profits
Axis Building Detection provides detection services for
commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.
We specialize in Electronic Leak Detection (ELD) and Ground
Penetrating Radar (GPR) services including Concrete Scanning and
Utility Locating.
ELD is a non-invasive testing platform using
state-of-the-art equipment and technology to
precisely locate breaches in roofing and
waterproof membranes that have or can lead to
water intrusion.
GPR uses radar pulses to portray images of the
subsurface, including concrete, asphalt, metals,
pipes, cables, or masonry, to detect reflected
signals from impediments such as post-tension
cables, rebar, beams, and conduits.
Selling Thru a Tough Economy
Wednesday, April 12 | 1:15 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. | Keynote Area
We’re seeing volatile pricing formats, supply chain interruption and rising interest rates. This usually ends in tough
economic conditions, resulting in construction industry challenges. Knowing the best way to stay ahead of these changes
and keep your business moving forward is difficult. We’ll look at the methods successful contractors use to weather
shifting economic conditions. We’ll cover:
1. Increasing your portion of the market pie
2. Getting a competitive advantage
3. Managing customer expectations
4. Structuring your sales effort
5. How to balance sales and marketing efforts
You’ll come away from this session with a better understanding of what it will take to grow in both revenue and
profitability in these times. Sales is the most important aspect of your business. Everything else simply follows that lead.
Common Construction Sales Mistakes
Thursday, April 13 | 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. | Keynote Area
Many in the construction industry consistently make the same mistakes that kill their opportunity. There are many
common errors and mentalities that hinder sales success. We’ll put a light on these problems and give the behaviors that
counter them. Make sure your approach to the customer base is the most effective possible. These errors are often made
without the contractor even realizing they’re making them. This cripples their chances of winning profitable projects.
Owner Can Implement To Restore Business F.I.T.ness In A World Of Chaos
Wednesday, April 12 | 11:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. | Keynote Area PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Windows that used to take 7 days in 2020 now take 7 months…maybe. Plywood that costs $11 now demands over $70!
Volatility is the new certainty, and contractors must create the discipline to develop a different level of fitness in their
business in order to navigate these new waters, with a more robust ship.
This life-changing and engaging 45 minute talk won’t waste your time in empty market predictions, but instead will provide you the tools to
build a better business that allows you to navigate a new business reality.
You will be equipped to beat chaos with predictability, and to build a business that weathers volatile changes, and makes time for what matters
most.
Navigating An Unpredictable Workforce: Building A Team That Will Work…Across
Generations
Thursday, April 13 | 11:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. | Keynote Area
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
“No one wants to work anymore!” The average age of a skilled trades worker is over 50, and the reality of both labor and management roles
within business is looking bleak.
Where are the people and why don’t they want to work? Crossing our fingers and hoping everything works out is not the winning strategy. We
must equip ourselves to understand what the new workforce looks like, what they want, aligned with what your business needs.
This life-changing and engaging 1 hour session pulls from our work with hundreds of small business contractors in building repetitive,
predictable and meaningful systems that build a team.
We will discover a powerful process that will empower you and your existing team to build a team that aligns with the vision, mission, and values
of your business, and who WANT to show up and work!
Target Audience: Homebuilders, Remodelers, Contractors
Implement A Predictable Process To Keep The Right Team
9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. | Room 3 BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
Scott Beebe
Founder & Head Coach | Business on Purpose
1 out of every 4 employees left their jobs in 2021…most voluntarily. The talent squeeze that contractors feel is predicted
to continue well into the future.
What is true for sales, namely that repeat customers are far easier to come by than new customers, is also true for
employees; retaining and growing existing employees is far easier and more effective than trying to find new ones.
This life-changing, 45 minute workshop will equip your leadership toolbelt with practical, take-home tools to provide for
your team that allows each person to thrive in their role, grow to new roles, and align with the mission that you have laid
out.
You will be equipped to beat chaos with predictability, and to build a business that weathers volatile changes, and makes
time for what matters most.
2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. | Room 3
Moncef Souissi
Senior Geotechnical Engineer | Cantsink
Helical piles and anchors have been used in construction applications for over a century. The first recorded use of
helical piles was in 1836 by Alexander Mitchell when he used helical piles to underpin the well-recognized Maplin Sands
Lighthouse in England. In the last 30 to 40 years, Helical piles have gained in popularity to the extent they are more
frequently recommended by design professional engineers, compared to many other deep foundation types. In 2009, the
International Building Code (IBC) was revised in reference to past International Building Codes and included the addition
of helical piles. The presentation will discuss the main components of a helical pile, pile installation process, various
applications, mechanical and soil pile capacities, and the methods used to determine them. It will also include the design
of helical pile using theoretical methods that are based on traditional soil mechanics and the well-known capacity-torque
correlation, which is probably the most significant attribute of helical pile.
BENEFITS OF GOVERNMENT
CONTRACTING
Government contracts are a tremendous financial opportunity
for small businesses.
The U.S. government is the largest customer in the world. It
buys all types of products and services — in both large and
small quantities — and it’s required by law to reserves 23%
of its purchases for competition between small businesses.
This is what the government calls “small business set-asides.”
The reservation of small business set-aside procurements is
designed to help level the playing field for small businesses.
You can learn more about small business set-aside programs at
www.sba.gov/contracting.
How it works
The government wants to buy from small businesses for several
reasons, including:
• To ensure that large businesses don’t “muscle out” small
businesses
• To gain access to the new ideas that small businesses
provide
• To support small businesses as engines of economic
development and job creation
• To offer opportunities to disadvantaged socio-economic
groups
Set-aside and sole-source contracts
Federal agencies must publicly list their contract opportunities.
Federal agencies then determined the need for a product or
service. Then they conduct program management activities,
market research and develops an acquisition strategy. Part of
this process involves determining whether the opportunity
should be reserved for small businesses or which contract
type will best suit the government’s needs. Most government
contracts over $250,000 go through a competitive bidding
process overseen by a contracting officer. This process can
be conducted either through sealed bidding or negotiated
procurement acquisition governed by the Federal Acquisition
Regulations and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations.
Contracts reserved exclusively for small businesses are
posted in the System for Award Management at a “Total Small
Business” set aside. In some cases, these so-called set-aside
contracts might consist of certain types of tasks on larger
contracts. When a contract is set-aside for one specific small
business, it’s called a sole-source contract.
The SBA’s role in contracting
The SBA works with federal agencies in order to award 23
percent of prime government contract dollars to eligible small
businesses. It also offers counseling and help to small business
contractors.
ASSESS YOUR BUSINESS
Market research
In order to bid on and win government contracts, you’ll have
to sell products or services that the government buys — and at
a competitive price. Use the resources below to see if there’s
a market for your product or service, determine how big the
market is, and find potential buyers.
Federal Procurement Data System
Federal Procurement Data System – Next Generation is the
repository of all federal contracting data for contracts over
$25,000. With this system, you can see which agencies
have contracts and with who, what agencies buy, and which
contractors have contracts.
USASpending.gov
USASpending.gov tracks government spending through
the contracts it awards. This searchable database contains
information for each federal contract. You can use this
information to help identify government purchasing trends.
Federal agency procurement forecasts
Each government agency releases a procurement forecast that
includes contracting opportunities for small businesses. You
can review these Agency Recurring Procurement Forecasts to
find out if there are agencies that are buying what you sell.
What makes a successful contractor?
The government prefers to work with established, reliable
businesses. Do you have a track record of delivering quality
goods and services on time and within budget? Is your
reputation within your industry strong?
Not only can it take a long time to win your first government
contract, it can take a significant amount of money. Some
businesses spend between $80,000 and $130,000 to earn their
first contract.
Also, it could take up to two years to start making a return
on your investment. You’ll need to have enough cash flow to
sustain your business. Maintaining a diverse list of privatesector
clients can help offset any potential initial losses.
Being e-commerce savvy is very important in government
contracting. For example, if you want to work with the
Department of Defense, you must be able to invoice and
receive payments electronically.
GET PROPER REGISTRATION AND ID NUMBERS
In order to sell goods and services to the government, you’ll
have to register your small business.
Unique Entity Identifier
Before you can bid on government proposals, you need to get
a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI). A UEI is a unique 12-character,
alpha-numeric value.
You will receive a UEI when you register with SAM at SAM.gov.
Entities doing business with the federal government must use
the UEI created by the system.
Businesses no longer have to go to a third-party website to
obtain their identifier (DUNS number). This transition allows
the government to streamline the entity identification and
validation process, making it easier and less burdensome to do
business with the federal government.
If your entity is already registered with SAM, your UEI has
already been assigned to you.
NAICS code
You’ll also need to match your products and services to a North
American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code. NAICS
codes classify businesses based on the particular product or
service they supply. A business will generally have a primary
NAICS code, but it can also have multiple NAICS codes if it
sells multiple products and services.
To find your NAICS code, view the NAICS code list at the U.S.
Census Bureau, www.census.gov/naics/.
Meet size standards
To be eligible for government contracts reserved for small
businesses, your business must meet size requirements set by
the SBA. These size standards define the maximum size that
a business — and its affiliates — can be to qualify as a small
business for a particular contract.
The SBA assigns a size standard to each NAICS code. Most
manufacturing companies with 500 employees or fewer, and
most non-manufacturing businesses with average annual
receipts under $7.5 million, will qualify as a small business.
However, there are exceptions by industry. You can view these
in Title 13 Part 121.201 of the Code of Federal Regulations
(CFR) or in the SBA’s table of small business size standards.
To determine if your business qualifies as “small” for
government contracting purposes, use the SBA’s Size Standards
Tool.
Register with SAM
To participate in government contracting, you must register
your business in the federal government’s System for Award
Management (SAM). SAM is a database that government
agencies search to find contractors.
Using SAM, you’ll able to certify that your business is eligible
for contracts that are reserved for small businesses. You’ll also
be able to represent if your business is eligible for contracts
under an SBA contracting program because it is disadvantaged,
women owned, veteran owned, or located in an underutilized
area.
tries to award at
least 5% of all federal
contracting dollars to small
disadvantaged businesses
each year.
The federal government
tries to award at least
3% of all federal prime
contracting dollars to
HUBZone-certified small
businesses each year.
The federal government
dollars to women-owned
small businesses each year.
The federal government
tries to award at least
3% of annual federal
contracting dollars to
service-disabled veteranowned
small businesses.
Participating in one of these SBA programs means you’ll
have fewer businesses to compete with to win a government
contract. However, you must meet eligibility requirements and
certify your business’ socio-economic status before you can bid
on a set-aside contract.
How to certify
The certification process may vary depending on the SBA
contracting program. For some, you can self-certify just by
updating your business profile in the SAM. For other programs,
you have to apply for certification. As part of the application,
you’ll answer questions about your business and its ownership,
and upload supporting documents.
To check each contracting program’s page for specific details
about eligibility requirements and the certification process
please visit www.sba.gov under the Federal Contracting Guide.
Your small business’ profile in SAM is like a résumé. Creating a
profile that’s accurate and appealing is important to winning a
government contract. Make sure to use accurate, descriptive
terms about your business so that contracting officials will be
able to find you in search results.
Maintain compliance
In order to participate in government contracting, you must
comply with all laws and regulations. The federal government’s
purchasing process is governed by the Federal Acquisition
Regulation.
Regulations covering government contracting programs for
small businesses are listed in 13 CFR 125.
