I AM LOVING IT!
Lal Kumar, long-time golf member
Lal Kumar is a familiar face in and around Ponderosa -
be it on the golf course with fellow kakis, at the Gym or
dining out with his family at the resort’s F&B outlets. It is
obvious that he enjoys being at the resort and makes it
one of his favourite places to spend leisure hours.
“What I like best is that the staff are friendly and
accommodating and although Ponderosa is an old club,
facilities are being upgraded from time to time to give us
a better experience.”
“Taking into account
it is an old Club, I am
generally pleased
with it. I know
changes take time.”
Lal is an avid golfer and often participates in the cluborganised
golf tournaments, which to him were the most
memorable experiences because of the fellowship that
follows every event.
Ponderosa strives to create a community experience for
its members as many look to the resort as their place to
chill and relax over activities they love to do. It’s also a
go-to for a good but quiet meal with the family.
Lal chose to celebrate two of his birthdays at the Hop
Sing Chinese Restaurant as “I like the food, service and
the price is reasonable.”
the 5th day of Chinese New Year.

SUSTAINABILITY AT THE
HEART OF PONDEROSA
Ponderosa has introduced a number of sustainability efforts
in line with our ESG ambitions
As a participant member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), Ponderosa Golf & Country Resort is committed
to ensure that our environment, social and governance (ESG) and sustainability practices are imbedded in our day to
Reducing the Use of Paper
Paper has been an essential tool for human communication for centuries. From books to newspapers to legal documents,
paper has played a crucial role in our daily lives. However, as technology advances and we become more aware of the
environmental impact of our actions, it’s becoming increasingly important to reduce our reliance on paper.
The production of paper requires the use of natural resources, such as trees, water, and energy. According to the
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), paper accounts for 25% of landfill waste and 33% of municipal waste. By
reducing the use of paper, we can help conserve these resources and reduce the environmental impact of paper
production, including deforestation and pollution.
Reducing the use of paper can help organizations and individuals save money on paper supplies, printing costs, and
document storage. By transitioning to digital documents, we can eliminate the need for physical storage space and
reduce the costs associated with printing and copying. This can have a significant impact on the bottom line of businesses
and can also help individuals save money on home office expenses.
Go Digital
Whenever possible, choose digital options over physical ones. For example, opt for e-books instead of physical books,
and use online forms and applications instead of printed ones.
At Ponderosa, our paper usage has seen a significant reduction between 2019 and 2022 after we embarked on
introducing e-statements to our members. We have also discontinued the practice of issuing paper receipts. Our app
also enables more digitization and helps create a environmental impact besides the convenience of going digital.
Reducing the use of paper can help address the issue of deforestation, as paper production is one of the primary
drivers of deforestation worldwide. The demand for paper products has led to the clearing of vast areas of forests for
logging and wood pulp production, which has devastating effects on the environment, including the loss of biodiversity,
increased greenhouse gas emissions, and soil erosion. By reducing our reliance on paper and transitioning to digital
alternatives, we can help reduce the demand for wood pulp and paper products, which in turn can help protect forests
and the ecosystems they support. This can have a significant impact on mitigating climate change and preserving
biodiversity for future generations.
