WELCOMING CITY OF PARRAMATTA’S<br />

NEWEST AUSTRALIAN CITIZENS<br />

The City of <strong>Parra</strong>matta recently welcomed 1,200 new Australian citizens into our growing<br />

vibrant community.<br />

Residents from more than 60 countries including China, India, Iran, Pakistan and Philippines<br />

pledged their loyalty to their new home, to Australia, our democratic beliefs, our laws, our<br />

values and our people.<br />

Our newest citizens joined our proud multicultural and inclusive community in three wonderful<br />

ceremonies at Riverside Theatres.<br />

We welcome them as partners in the ongoing task of making our community, more fair, more<br />

prosperous, more equal, and hope they enjoy being part of our City which celebrates the<br />

world’s oldest continuous culture and the contributions of our newest Australian citizens.<br />

OUTDOOR CINEMA SERIES<br />

KICKS-OFF<br />

City of <strong>Parra</strong>matta’s outdoor cinema<br />

series is running throughout <strong>March</strong> and<br />

April with free family-friendly films<br />

screening at six sites.<br />

Grab your friends and family and<br />

head down to a local park to enjoy<br />

blockbusters underneath the stars<br />

plus roving entertainment, live music,<br />

garden games and food trucks.<br />

ROYAL TOUCH FOR<br />

UPJOHN PARK, RYDALMERE<br />

City of <strong>Parra</strong>matta has finished planting<br />

large eucalyptus trees in Upjohn Park,<br />

Rydalmere in honour of – and to<br />

commemorate – Her Majesty, Queen<br />

Elizabeth II and her 70 years of service.<br />

The project is jointly funded by City<br />

of <strong>Parra</strong>matta and the Australian<br />

Government’s Planting Trees for the<br />

Queen’s Jubilee Program.<br />

our community providing a place to connect,<br />

socialise and do much-needed shopping.<br />

like plus, how we can maintain and<br />

improve the ones you know and love.<br />
