Matt Gondek is a Deconstructive Pop Artist, whose work is possessed with a punk rock spirit, celebrat<strong>in</strong>g rebellion and<br />
destruction. With a visceral pop color palette and a disarm<strong>in</strong>gly playful tone, he tears down cartoon idols, ak<strong>in</strong> to<br />
slaughter<strong>in</strong>g our modern-day gods. Born <strong>in</strong> 1982, his creative voice is rooted <strong>in</strong> the 90s; as a true conduit of his generation<br />
and their potentially po<strong>in</strong>tless search for mean<strong>in</strong>g and purpose amidst a cruel life <strong>in</strong> a flawed world. He boasts sold-out<br />
exhibitions <strong>in</strong> his home of Los Angeles as well as <strong>in</strong> New York, Paris, and Hong Kong.<br />
“My work is <strong>in</strong> response to what I consider our “modern day gods” (Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, and other huge corporate characters),<br />
paired with my love of Punk Rock and the ethos beh<strong>in</strong>d that such as anti-conformity and the tear<strong>in</strong>g down of those false deities,” says<br />

His most recent successes <strong>in</strong>clude the Tokyo Exhibition’s “Miss<strong>in</strong>g Person” exhibit, featur<strong>in</strong>g 15 new acrylic works from November<br />
12 to December 2, together with draw<strong>in</strong>gs and screen pr<strong>in</strong>ts. 300 uniquely handmade Fight Club Baseball bats with spikes specially<br />
constructed and comb<strong>in</strong>ed with an NFT component released <strong>in</strong> conjunction with MakersPlace.<br />
