Hassan is an Egyptian <strong>in</strong>terdiscipl<strong>in</strong>ary designer/artist based <strong>in</strong> southern<br />
California. He holds a bachelor’s degree <strong>in</strong> architectural design and his<br />
experiences vary between Museography, Exhibition design, Computational<br />
design, Furniture design, Architecture and Construction, Digital<br />
Fabrication, and Conceptual art. Alongside his work as a computational designer;<br />
Hassan is currently explor<strong>in</strong>g the digital art scene us<strong>in</strong>g artificial <strong>in</strong>telligence.<br />
Hassan believes creativity is such an <strong>in</strong>tangible phenomenon that one can’t just<br />
p<strong>in</strong>po<strong>in</strong>t a holistic def<strong>in</strong>ition. As human be<strong>in</strong>gs we have always managed to overcome<br />
our limitations with the help of the tools we make;<br />
through an <strong>in</strong>itial understand<strong>in</strong>g of cause and effect<br />
we managed to take pre-exist<strong>in</strong>g elements, and<br />
comb<strong>in</strong>e them <strong>in</strong> novel ways, thus unconsciously<br />
mak<strong>in</strong>g the ‘whole more than the sum of its<br />
parts. ‘So, one could argue that creativity is<br />
only a process of a parametric copy-paste;<br />
where new ideas are the process of mak<strong>in</strong>g<br />
mean<strong>in</strong>gful connections of what already<br />
existed.<br />
Hassan’s venture <strong>in</strong>to ai-generated art has<br />
been a fruitful one. Hassan further expresses<br />
that over the past summer, new Ai diffusion<br />
models have become accessible to the public. And<br />
while us<strong>in</strong>g AI tools <strong>in</strong> creat<strong>in</strong>g artwork is caus<strong>in</strong>g<br />
a huge debate over authenticity, ownership, and what<br />
it means to be an artist; Hassan believes these tools are<br />
here to stay as they present the creatives with the unique<br />
opportunity to be able to generate artwork <strong>in</strong> such an<br />
unprecedented method, speed, and context.<br />
