Debbie W<strong>in</strong>gham, an artist based <strong>in</strong> the UAE took her art to<br />
a new level <strong>by</strong> th<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g out of the box- which led to what is<br />
dubbed as the world’s most expensive black diamond dress.<br />
It was the start of what would become her signature <strong>in</strong> the art<br />
world; diamonds and lots of it. She has released an art collection around<br />
the theme of ‘Time’ that pays homage to Dubai. The oil-pa<strong>in</strong>ted collection,<br />
named ‘Dubai Through the Years’ features<br />
Dubai’s architecture <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g, Dubai Frame,<br />
the Burj Khalifa, and the Dubai Creek Tower,<br />
represent<strong>in</strong>g Dubai’s past present, and future.<br />
She took the circular artwork one step further<br />
with the exquisite frame that is dubbed the<br />
most expensive picture frame <strong>in</strong> the world<br />
currently. Studded with more than 10,000<br />
<strong>in</strong>dividual diamonds, the frame <strong>in</strong>cludes<br />
po<strong>in</strong>ter diamonds, white diamonds, and<br />
sapphire, mak<strong>in</strong>g the frame itself 1.5 Million<br />

Debbie debuted her first creation, the<br />
stunn<strong>in</strong>g Black Diamond dress which broke<br />
records, hailed as the world’s most expensive<br />
dress at the time. At a price po<strong>in</strong>t of £3.5m,<br />
the dress is adorned with 50 two-carat<br />
black diamonds. W<strong>in</strong>gham’s portfolio<br />
expands to creat<strong>in</strong>g the world’s most<br />
expensive shoes. Worth Dhs55M, the<br />
diamonds used are quite rare. She has<br />
proved to be a diverse artist who can<br />
make the ord<strong>in</strong>ary <strong>in</strong>to extraord<strong>in</strong>ary<br />
while push<strong>in</strong>g the boundaries of<br />
conventional art.
