OUR PEOPLE, OUR MISSION Global Health eMagazine Global Health Narrative Medicine Class March 2023 Highlights Reviews GH Narrative Reflections Hispanic and Latinx Voices Global Local Voices of Ugandan Students Nursing Division Women’s Health Education Written by Andrea Green, MD Professor of Pediatrics and Director of Global Health in Department of Pediatrics at UVMLCOM In December 2021, I offered a four-week reading elective on the topic of Global Health Narrative Medicine. Themes of the course were explored through a mixture of fiction and memoir complemented with journal articles. At the end of each reading, students wrote a short reflection on the assigned reading and its accompanying articles. A range of topics was made available to students who had the option of choosing six core readings and their accompanying journal articles. On the next page is a reflection from Micaila Baroffio’ 2023, one of the students who participated in this course in 2022.
