IDIAPE - BASORUN -
AKOBO ROAD OF OLD
Passing through the 7.25km Idi-Ape/
Basorun/Akobo Road in the past was often
characterized by pains and agony, due to
the bad state of the road.
Residents and motorists along the route
often had hectic reaching their destinations
result of its deplorable condition. The
situation got to a level where residents of
the area abandoned their private cars for
commercial vehicles and motorcycles, while
others relocated outside the area due to
the hardship on the road.
Heavy-duty vehicles plying the road were
often stuck in different spots, thereby
making passage of other vehicles difcult,
thus creates hold-ups on the route.
The road is one major road within the
Ibadan metropolis that serves as a link to
three local government councils in the
State. It is a major link that connects
Ibadan Northeast Local Government in
Basorun to Lagelu and Akinyele Local
Government via Akobo and Olorunda
Axis.
