3 SPEECHOFTHEAIRPORTMANAGERFORCOMMENCEMENTOFDUALIZATION OFTHEACCESSROADOFTHEAIRPORTBYOYOSTATEGOVERNMENTUNDER THELEADERSHIPOFENGR.SEYIMAKINDE OYOSTATE IbadanAirportwasbuiltalongtheAlakiaRouteintheyear 1982.Overtheyears,alotofchangeshavebeenmadeto upgradeand maketheairportlivecompetitivelywithitscontemporaries acrossthenationandintheworldatlarge.TheFederal Governmentovertheyearshavemadeeffortsattransforming theairportandalltheseeffortsareacknowledgedand appreciated,severalprojectsareongoingintheairportaswe speak,allaimedatensuringasafeandsecureairport.Ibadan airportisstrategictotradeandinvestmentespeciallyinthe southwestbyvirtueofitslocationinthelargestcityinwestern Africa.Ibadancityisahubforinvestmentandtradeofallsorts andtheairportisagatewaytovariouslocationsandaviable alternativetotheLagosAirportwhichhasobviouslyreachedits peakincapacity.Therefore,allhandsareondecktomake IbadanAirportliveuptoitscapacityandcapability. TheOyoStateGovernmentundertheleadershipofHis ExcellencyEngineerOluseyiMakindehasshownovertimethat hehasthepoliticalwilltotransformtheairportfromaLocal AirporttoInternationalAirportwithseveralStatefunded projectsthathaveprecededthisdualisationoftheAccessRoad suchastheProtocolLounge,TerminalClinic,procurementofa FireTenderandseveralotherlogisticssupport.Hence,wecan restassuredthatthisisnotapoliticalgimmickorfarceandthis projectwillseethelightofday.
