The Ministry is continuously tasked to rise above the prevalent challenges of poor
historic performance trends in Infrastructure Project Delivery, escalating costs, delayed
funding, cash ow constraints, high interest rates, deterioration of professionalism &
discipline quality by demonstrably improving in the following areas;
a. Deepening Professionalism: New skills like benchmarking, New tools, training
workshops, better reporting, appropriate tasking and placement
b. Quality control / Assurance: Improved use of expertise and collaboration with
outside experts like IEAG – Independent Expert Advisory Group, Multi-

c. Value Engineering: Cost Reduction, Concept/Design challenges, alternative
designs, Integration with other MDAs & projects including FGN projects.
d. Innovative ways of improving overall infrastructure Availability, Reliability
& Function
e. Improved Response, Visibility, Presence & Timely Feedback: The creation of
an Infrastructure Reporting tool, which gives pinpoint accuracy to identify
defective infrastructure or hazard, create remediation tasks that can be assigned
to responsible parties for execution, while providing status update a
feedback to the reporter.
