Football fans were in for a treat as Selangor FC recently unveiled
its second jersey for the upcoming 2023 season during a launch
event at Tropicana Gardens Mall which also included a meet-andgreet
session with football fans.
The jersey reveal was held during the Selangor FC 2023 Jom Jumpa
First Team event at the mall on 18 February 2023. Along with the
launch, fans were also introduced to the full Selangor FC squad for
this season. They also got to take part in a meet-and-greet session
with players, including head coach Tan Cheng Hoe and two assistant
head coaches Nidzam Jamil and Ramon Marcote.
Selangor FC fan Mohd Aliff Jamaluddin, 35, who hails from Kota
Damansara, said he was impressed with the launch held at the
mall. “Tropicana Gardens Mall was the perfect location to hold
the memorable occasion. It was an enjoyable day spent at the
mall with my family!"
Inspired by the club’s chairman, DYTM Raja Muda Selangor
Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al Haj in
10 Brigade (Para) of the Malaysian Armed Forces, the jersey
was specially designed and embedded with the never-give-up
attitude and fighting spirit of the royal. It was also embroidered
with the official colours and logos of his Royal Highness.
Other activities held include panna, 3v3 with Women’s Super
League players organised by the Selangor Football Association,
FIFA PS5, and Mobile Legends with Yoodo Red Giants squad
players. Players joined in and took part in the activities with fans.
To further fuel the excitement of the Selangor FC 2023 Jom
Jumpa First Team 2023 ceremony, sales of “Away” jerseys were
held following the official video launch of the jersey on social
media platforms.
Selangor FC Chief Executive Officer Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon
talked more about the jersey’s theme.
“DYTM Raja Muda Selangor (RMS) Tengku Amir Shah is a
figure that we admire for his leadership who has brought many
changes and progress to the Selangor FC team. Therefore,
the achievements, fighting spirit and bravery of a leader and
His Highness’ soldiers have been taken as the main source of
inspiration for the theme of the 2023 Away jersey.”
