Living high up in the mountains is the dream of many, especially
those seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, trading it
for peace, tranquility and the chance to be surrounded by nature.
Apart from these advantages, it has been said that highland
living contributes to a healthier life. One example is that thanks
Genting Highlands
to showcases the fresh nature’s air and best gorgeous landscape, residents are inspired
to get outside and partake in activities such as hiking, jogging or
even brisk walking.
Walking regularly will keep your heart, lungs and blood circulation
in peak performance, as well as lower blood pressure. This simple
exercise also works to reduce stress, boost immunity and even
treat depression. So, just imagine how calming it would be to
walk in nature, breathing the fresh mountain air and taking in the
breathtaking scenery all around you.
It is no surprise why the Japanese do this often and they call
it “shinrin-yoku” (forest bathing), a preventative healthcare
and healing method. Taking leisurely walks in the woods and
spending time in nature creates calming neuro-psychological
effects, which leads to the reduction of stress, anger, anxiety,
depression and insomnia.
The good news is that you don’t have to go as far as Japan to
experience this. Malaysia is home to several elevated spots where
you can enjoy nature, such as Genting Highlands, which is just an
hour’s drive away from Kuala Lumpur.
As it sits more than 1,700 metres above sea level atop the
Titiwangsa mountain range in Pahang, this famous hill resort
enjoys cool weather and clean mountain air all year round.
What’s more, due to the abundant avian life in Genting Highlands,
bird watching is a popular pastime there throughout the year.
The Rhinoceros Hornbill, Orange-breasted Trogon, Siberian Blue
Robin, Asian Glossy Starling, Bushy-crested Hornbill, Long-tailed
Sibia, Yellow-vented Bulbul, and more feathered beauties can
all be spotted here. Along with these birds, you may also come
across primates including Dusky Leaf monkeys, Long-tailed
Macaques, and Pig-tailed Macaques.
And, since Tropicana has plans to create a holistic township
in Genting Highlands called Tropicana WindCity, all of these
advantages will be available in a setting adjacent to sophisticated
conveniences surrounded by nature in its purest form.
