April Greiman
April Greiman, born in 1948
is one of the leading artists
of the digital age. She was
among the first to embrace
computer technology as a
new visual medium: her style
links American
Postmodernism with the
rational clarity of the Swiss
school and she is recognized
for introducing the Californian
New Wave aesthetic.
In 1976, she moved to
bustling LA and upended
the “less is more” convention
in favor of a hybrid, layered,
multimedia, and decidedly
individualized style.
April Greiman doesn’t
like to be called a graphic
designer—she conceives of
herself as an artist, teacher,
and thinker.
