DMEC CON ENEA PER IL
PROGETTO SOLARGRID
DMEC collabora al progetto
SOLARGRID (Sistemi sOlari
termodinamici e fotovoLtaici
con Accumulo peR co-Gene-
RazIone e flessibilità Di rete)
sviluppato con il cofinanziamento
dell’Unione europea,
tramite il fondo PON Ricerca
e Innovazione 2014-2020. Il
progetto
prevede lo sviluppo di soluzioni
innovative e migliorative,
in termini di prestazioni
energetiche e competitività
economica, per componenti
e sistemi relativi alle tecnologie
Concentrating Solar
Power (CSP) e Concentrating
PhotoVoltaics (CPV) per
la generazione distribuita di
energia elettrica e termica.

UN NUOVO ERC ASSEGNATO
A DMEC PER IL PROGETTO
LEILA
Siamo orgogliosi di annunciare
che la Prof.ssa Paola
Saccomandi è una dei ricercatori
del Politecnico di Milano
ai quali è stato assegnato
un ERC Proof of Concept
Grants 2022.
Insieme al suo team lavora al
progetto LEILA, il cui obiettivo
è lo sviluppo, la validazione
tecnologica e l’analisi di
mercato di un dispositivo per
l’asportazione laser di tumori
che sia minimamente invasivo,
in grado di controllare in
tempo reale il trattamento
e di assistere il medico nella
selezione dei parametri terapeutici.

DMEC WON A NEW ERC WITH
THE LEILA PROJECT
Proud to announce that our
prof.ssa Paola Saccomandi is
one of the five Politecnico di
Milano researchers who won
the ERC Proof of Concept
Grants 2022.
She is working with her team
on LEILA. The objectives of
the project are the development,
technological validation
and market analysis of
a minimally invasive device
for laser removal of tumours
that can control treatment
in real time and assist the
physician in the selection of
therapeutic parameters.
VIA AI TEST DEL PROTOTIPO
e-KIRO
Siamo finalmente arrivati ad
un prodotto pronto per i test
di e-KIRO, un supporto elettromagnetico
minimizzato
per l’aggancio di oggetti di
vita quotidiana per persone
con fragilità a livello della
mano. Il progetto è sostenuto
dal MISE per la valorizzazione
e il trasferimento tecnologico
di idee innovative.
Il team di lavoro composto da
Marta Gandolla, Alessandra
Pedrocchi, Mauro Mancini,
GianMaria Foglia e Costanza
Mariani ha avviato i primi
test. Il progetto vede la collaborazione
del Dipartimento
di Meccanica, di Ingegneria
Biomedica, di Ingegneria Gestionale
e di Energia.

e-KIRO: LAUNCHED THE
TESTS OF THE FIRST PRO-
TOTYPE
Finally announcing that we’ve
got an e-KIRO prototype ready
to be tested. E-KIRO is a
minimised electromagnetic
assistant that allows people
with hand-level fragility to interact
with daily-life objects.
The project is sponsored
by MISE to enhance and
promote the technological
transfer of innovative ideas.
Marta Gandolla, Alessandra
Pedrocchi, Mauro Mancini,
GianMaria Foglia and Costanza
Mariani are members of
the project team that started
the tests. DMEC cooperates
on this project with the
Department of Biomedical
Engineering, the Department
of Management, Economics
and Industrial Engineering
and the Department of Energy.
VITAE: DRONI E SCANNER
3D PER LA RICOSTRUZIONE
DEI RESTI ARCHEOLOGICI
Durante la missione dello
scorso marzo 2022 del
progetto VITAE, sono state
condotte dallo staff DMEC
molte attività di ispezione
presso il sito archeologico
eritreo di Adulis e la
moschea Sahaba in Massawa.
I settori 2, 3 e 6 del
sito Adulis, insieme al muro
di recente scoperta delle
mura nel settore 8, sono
stati interamente scansionati
usando uno scanner 3D,
coprendo una superficie di
circa 1500 metri quadrati.

VITAE: DRONES AND 3D
SCANNERS TO RECON-
STRUCT ARCHEOLOGICAL
DISCOVERIES
On March 2022, during
the mission of the VITAE
project, several survey
activities were carried out
by the staff of DMEC in the
Eritrean archaeological site
of Adulis and at the Sahaba
mosque in Massawa. The
Adulis site sectors 2, 3 and
6, as well as newly discovered
walls in sector 8, were
completely scanned using
a handheld 3D scanner, for a
total of roughly 1500 square
meters.
