design draws elements from the eye-catching landscapes of
Iceland – imagine red molten lava and the most vivid blues

The Reykjavik Eyes Black Label collection perfectly balances

design. Each titanium frame is hypoallergenic and boasts a

At the end of 2022 and in our Autumn/Winter
edition, we announced the launch of two new
brands to be added to the Continental Eyewear
roster: Puriti and Cameo Sustain, our 14th and
15th frames brands respectively.
Puriti is an expertly crafted collection of frames,
that has been meticulously designed throughout
the manufacturing process. What makes Puriti
a stand-out collection is the fi ne attention to
detail, with a manufacturing process that employs
ultra-lightweight Japanese titanium which is hand
crafted in Japan.
Cameo Sustain is our fi rst eco-conscious brand:
a highly innovative frame design that uses 100%

eco-friendly printing. For the designers colour was key in this

REMOTE
EDGING
As well as having our own tracers
to offer, we can accept a remote
edge fi le from a number of different
tracers which you may already have
in practice. This allows us to accept
traces for the vast majority of frames
on the market including full rim,
supra and rimless.
When you have a patient with a high
combination of spherical and cylinder
powers, it is best to send the job
to our glazing team. However, we
suggest calling the customer service
team to discuss this.
In addition, there are certain frame
types that are not always suitable
for tracing through remote edgers.
These can include double rim
frames, inline supra frames, shallow
frames with a depth of less than
22mm and frames with a high
degree of wrap angle.
For frames that are diffi cult to trace
or for orders where you require
powers outside of +/-7.00 sphere
and over -3 cyls, we strongly suggest
you send the frame and lens order
to our on-site glazing team.

We offer a bespoke logo printing
service on site. Spectacle cases, lens
cloths and bags can be customised
with your company logo and details.
A wide variety of printing methods are
available, such as block printing, heat
transfer, foiling, embossing and woven
tag customisation.
Our in-house design team will create
a mock-up unique to your order
requirements, so you can see what
your fi nished product will look like.
Our dedicated customer service

HEAVY
LIGHT
In 2022 Millmead Optical Group embarked on an ambitious and thought-provoking project to shine a light
on sustainability within the optical industry.
In acknowledgement of the waste generated by demo lenses
and the lens manufacturing process we wanted to create a
sculpture using these waste materials to help start a
discussion about how the industry could find ways to reduce
the waste produced in the lens manufacturing process.
The sculpture was conceived and designed by renowned
designer Yair Neuman, who specialises in sustainable
material innovation in optics. He was assisted in the creation
of this sculpture project by Hannah Browne, a Fine Art
student at Liverpool John Moores University.
The sculpture first went on display at the Open Eye Gallery,
on Liverpool’s famous Royal Albert Docks. ‘Heavy Light’ will
officially receive its London launch at 100% Optical where it
will be unveiled and introduced by Yair Neuman. James
Conway, CEO of Millmead Optical Group, will also be
discussing the purpose and important role of the sculpture
going into 2023.
The central message of this project is of huge significance;
If we can turn discarded waste products into something
beautiful and begin those important discussions about
reducing industrial waste, then there is hope for us all to
become part of the solution.”
James Conway said, “Sustainability is a journey, not a
destination and it’s one that we embarked on four years ago
at Millmead. However, this collaboration with Yair Neuman
and the work we’ve developed to find more sustainable uses
for our waste products, is by far the biggest step that we
have taken along our own journey. We’re thrilled with the
sculpture and look forward to unveiling it at 100% Optical,
before it embarks on a nationwide tour across several
galleries and industry events.”
We hope that the Heavy-Light sculpture provides food for
thought and inspiration, for anyone embarking on their
sustainability journey throughout next year and beyond.
Yair Neuman has commented, “I’m delighted to be unveiling
the sculpture in London at 100% Optical. The process of
working with the team at Millmead Optical Group and my
assistant Hannah, has been an incredible learning experience
for us all.
