Welcome Hello and welcome to our promotional brochure for March and April. With spring bulbs already flowering and crisp sunny days making a welcome return, we are celebrating all things new and exciting with the launch of our brandnew <strong>2023</strong> Wine Portfolio. March and April are jam-packed with events, all of which could potentially drive consumers out into the on-trade on the hunt for great food, wine, and company. Kicking off on March 5th with St Piran’s Day, I can’t think of a better excuse to crack open a bottle from one of our brilliant local producers: Polgoon in Penzance, Knightor near St Austell, and Camel Valley on the outskirts of Bodmin. Just a few days later, on March 8th, it’s International Women’s Day and we’re introducing four of the inspirational women behind some of our favourite wines. Emma Borg is the co-founder of Painted Wolf Winery, based in South Africa; Emma and her husband donate 5% of their turnover to charities that support the protection of endangered animals in Africa including the winery’s namesake, the painted wolf. Her peers include the wonderfully talented Laure Colombo, winemaker at Colombo Père et fille, who is responsible for one of our new additions, Colombo Picpoul de Pinet. Sarah Massey, winemaker at Lyme Bay winery in Devon, produces fabulous sparkling wine and our brandnew Bacchus which is a firm personal favourite. Finally, Almudena Alberca, a trailblazer! Almundena is Spain’s first ever female Master of Wine and talented Head Winemaker at Grupo Bodegas Palacio 1894. Speaking of inspirational women, Mother’s Day falls on March 19th and Easter follows soon after, bringing with it the familiar rush of holidaying families and sumptuous roast lunches with your nearest and dearest. With so much to celebrate, you’ll be pleased to hear that we have three delicious English sparkling wines on offer for raising a toast, along with an outstanding selection of brand-new wines.
