Jackson Pollock is famous for his drip pa<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>gs, which are a type<br />

of abstract expressionist art. Pollock developed a unique pa<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g<br />

style <strong>in</strong> which he dripped, splattered, and poured pa<strong>in</strong>t onto <strong>the</strong><br />

canvas, creat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>tricate and highly dynamic compositions.<br />

The pa<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g depicts a scene of a boat on <strong>the</strong> Mediterranean Sea,<br />

with <strong>the</strong> boat and its occupants appear<strong>in</strong>g to be suspended <strong>in</strong> midair<br />

as if <strong>the</strong>y are be<strong>in</strong>g tossed around by <strong>the</strong> waves. The pa<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g is<br />

notable for its use of abstract forms and distorted perspective, which<br />

were revolutionary at <strong>the</strong> time it was created. It is considered to be a<br />

key work <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> development of cubism, a revolutionary art movement<br />

that emerged <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> early 20th century.<br />

Monet’s fa<strong>the</strong>r wanted him to take over <strong>the</strong> family’s grocery<br />

bus<strong>in</strong>ess and did not support Monet’s desire to become<br />

an artist. Monet left home at <strong>the</strong> age of 16 to study art and<br />

eventually conv<strong>in</strong>ced his fa<strong>the</strong>r to let him pursue his passion.<br />

Despite <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>itial lack of support from his family, Monet went<br />

on to become one of <strong>the</strong> most famous and <strong>in</strong>fluential artists <strong>in</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> history of art.<br />

The “Th<strong>in</strong>ker” is a bronze sculpture created by Auguste<br />

Rod<strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong> 1880. It depicts a man seated on a rock, with<br />

his ch<strong>in</strong> rest<strong>in</strong>g on his hand as if <strong>in</strong> deep thought. The<br />

sculpture is one of Rod<strong>in</strong>’s most famous works and has<br />

become an iconic symbol of <strong>in</strong>tellectual contemplation.<br />
