1985
Juan Sepúlveda
Appointed as Trinity University's (San Antonio, Texas) first President’s Special Adviser
for Inclusive Excellence. The position is tasked with the administration, management,
coordination, and implementation of campus-wide programming that promotes
diversity and fosters inclusion and access for students, employees, alumni, and
other stakeholders. Juan is also Calgaard Distinguished Professor of Practice in
Political Science at Trinity.

1986
Matthew Christmas
Appointed as Metropolitan Grand Secretary and Grand Scribe Ezra of the Metropolitan
Grand Lodge and Grand Chapter of London, as well as Secretary to the London
Freemasons’ Charity – effectively the Chief Operating Officer for London Freemasonry.
1987
John Tien
Noiminated by President Joe Biden to be United States Deputy Secretary of
Homeland Security. In June 2021, he was confirmed in a full Senate vote by 60-34
and was sworn in as Deputy Secretary.
1989
Phil Venables
Appointed to U.S. President Biden's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology;
the Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board of the U.S. National Institute of
Standards and Technology; the U.S. National Security Agency's Science of Security
program as Distinguished Expert on cybersecurity.
1990
Naomi Canton
Gave up her position as digital editor at Asia House in London, in 2017, to become
a journalist for Times of India covering the UK. Her assignments have included
interviewing then Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak, at the Treasury and
attending the G7 in Cornwall in 2021. She has covered England v India cricket
matches at Lord's; India Prime Minister Narendra Modi and opposition leader
Rahul Gandhi's UK visits; and provided TV commentary on UK Prime Minister Boris
Johnson's recent India visit. Her to day-to-day work includes reporting on crime,
terrorist attacks, UK-India affairs, the Indian diaspora and anything globally significant
of interest to Indian readers. She began her career as a cub reporter working on the
British regional press, but has always retained a strong interest in Asia.
