homesandresidentialapartmentstowardsthe
outskirts.
TherearemanyseniorhousingprojectsinIndia.
Theexistingprojectsareinsouth(Bengaluru,
Karnataka,etc)andinnothernregions(Delhi).
DevelopingseniorhousingaroundMumbaito
establishtheideaofseniorhousingand
promotingsensitivitytowardsoldageusers.After
lockdownpeoplehavestartedrecognizingthe
sufocationoflivinginacity.Demandfor
residencesintheoutskirtswithnaturearound
hasincreasedalot.Alibaugisoneofthoseget
awayplaceswherepeoplehavesecondhome.

designingsuchaladnscapewhichrepresents
co-existenceandcuratesexperiencesby
stimulatingtheuser’ssenses.
Theproposedlandscapeprojectsaimsat
designingaspacefortheelderlytoenhancethe

being.Itwilserveasarefugeforthedominant
users(seniorcitizens)from theharsh,rigidand

Intheilustrationwehaveaimedatdepictinghow PostModernism tookovertheprevalent
Modernistapproachinarchitecture.Therigidformswerereplacedbythecurved&
asymmetricforms.Themovementcreatedbythesefreeflowingformsattemptedtopushthe
boundariesbeyondthepractical,boring& muteddesigns.

contrastbetweenthetwo
architecturalmovements;
Modernism focusedonservinga

embracingthesurroundingnaturecreatinga

IntheilustrationwehavecombinedthedynamicalyfreeflowingfaçadeofDancinghouse
withthelinearSeagram depictingthedominanceofthepostmodernistmovementoverthe
preexistingmodernistarchitectureduringthelate20thCentury.Ar.FrankOGehry,is
popularlyknownforhisoriginal,sculptural& oftenaudaciouswork.Hisstructureshavea
strongvisualappealaddingarecognizablecharacterinthecity’sskylight.Thenotionof
“LessisMore”wasgradualyreinstatedby“LessisBore”.Restoringfunctionalityandalso
