Stripling’s General Store began in 1964 as a small store on the family
farm originally known as the “Sausage Kitchen.” The Sausage Kitchen was
a simple meat market where James Stripling began sharing his love of
making whole hog country sausage. Those who remember the original
store recall James giving out sausage and biscuits for free on Saturday
mornings to all the local people, effectively getting them hooked on the
delicious sausage recipe.
