The first International Detailing Association
(IDA) Certified Detailer was
designated in June 2011. In the 11 years
since, more than 3,200 detailers around
the world have earned their certification.
Currently, there are more than 1,500 active
Certified Detailers across the globe,
including more than 500 located outside
of the United States. Keep reading to
learn more about what IDA Certification
is, how to become a Certified Detailer

the exciting ways the IDA Certification

What is IDA
Certification?
The IDA Certification Program is a
culmination of the cooperative efforts
of industry leaders specializing in the
detailing industry. The multi-phased
program evaluates a detailer’s technical
knowledge and proficiency. Successful
completion of the first phase (Phase I),
consisting of 10 written exams, grants
the detailer the title of IDA Certified
Detailer (CD). Subsequently, successful
completion of a higher-level second
phase (Phase II), consisting of hands-on
assessments, awards the detailer the title
of IDA Certified Detailer, Skills Validated
(CD-SV). The Certified Detailer and
