Task Brief
Task #2
I was instructed to design a different façade for Al Hayer
shops. To evoke a neo-Islamic architecture feel in the
façade, concept images were searched for, taking
inspiration from the Mashrabiya and arches used in
Islamic architecture and mix them with modern elements.
And then the final conceptual façade of the Al Hayer
shops; I sketched two options for the façade, in option A I
used steel Mashrabiya with very low visibility for the
occupants on the first floor, while in option B I used glass
Mashrabiya with Islamic patterns of high visibility.
