SEEING AND POINTING
If God has not been dethroned, if, indeed, he
governs “all things according to the counsel of his will”
(Eph. 1:11), and if this coronavirus outbreak, with all its
devastation, is in his holy, righteous, good, and wise hands,
then what is he doing? What are his purposes?
STOP REGARDING MAN
The first thing to say, before trying to answer this question,
is that, compared to the wisdom of God, my opinion counts
for nothing. So does yours. What we think, out of our own
heads, is of little significance. The Bible says that “whoever
trusts in his own mind is a fool” (Prov. 28:26). Instead, we
are told, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not
lean on your own understanding” (Prov. 3:5).
