xiiEditorsthe United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2010 as an Oak RidgeInstitute for Science and Education (ORISE) fellow. Beginning in December2011, Dr. Xie became full professor of pharmacology and mentor of PhD studentsat Nanjing Medical University (Nanjing, China), and was appointed chief of theGeneral Clinical Research Center, Nanjing First Hospital. In 2014, Dr. Xie wasawarded the Distinguished Medical Expert of Jiangsu Province, China.Dr. Xie is active in the research field of clinical pharmacology— pharmacogenomicsand personalized medicine, in particular—with at least 130 papers published,many in leading journals worldwide, including New England Journal of Medicine,Annual Review of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Advanced Drug DeliveryReviews, Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics,Drug Metabolism Reviews, The Pharmacogenomics Journal, Pharmacogenomics,Pharmacogenetics & Genomics, Journal of Thrombosis & Haemostasis, DrugMetabolism and Disposition, and Personalized Medicine. In addition, he hasauthored several chapters in books published by Springer, Wiley, ASM Press, andAnnual Reviews. Dr. Xie has served on the editorial board of Pharmacogenomics,UK (2003–2011); American Journal of PharmacoGenomics (currently MolecularDiagnosis & Therapy), New Zealand; and Journal of Geriatric Cardiology, China.Dr. Xie has also been invited to review about 30 scientific journals in the United Statesand the United Kingdom as well as other countries. More recently, Dr. Xie was invitedto edit the English textbook Pharmacology for the medical students nationwide as anassociate editor-in-chief, which will be published by the People’s Medical PublishingHouse, Beijing, China.
