the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2010 as an Oak Ridge

Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) fellow. Beginning in December

2011, Dr. Xie became full professor of pharmacology and mentor of PhD students

at Nanjing Medical University (Nanjing, China), and was appointed chief of the

General Clinical Research Center, Nanjing First Hospital. In 2014, Dr. Xie was

awarded the Distinguished Medical Expert of Jiangsu Province, China.

Dr. Xie is active in the research field of clinical pharmacology— pharmacogenomics

and personalized medicine, in particular—with at least 130 papers published,

many in leading journals worldwide, including New England Journal of Medicine,

Annual Review of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Advanced Drug Delivery

Reviews, Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics,

Drug Metabolism Reviews, The Pharmacogenomics Journal, Pharmacogenomics,

Pharmacogenetics & Genomics, Journal of Thrombosis & Haemostasis, Drug

Metabolism and Disposition, and Personalized Medicine. In addition, he has

authored several chapters in books published by Springer, Wiley, ASM Press, and

Annual Reviews. Dr. Xie has served on the editorial board of Pharmacogenomics,

UK (2003–2011); American Journal of PharmacoGenomics (currently Molecular

Diagnosis & Therapy), New Zealand; and Journal of Geriatric Cardiology, China.

Dr. Xie has also been invited to review about 30 scientific journals in the United States

and the United Kingdom as well as other countries. More recently, Dr. Xie was invited

to edit the English textbook Pharmacology for the medical students nationwide as an

associate editor-in-chief, which will be published by the People’s Medical Publishing

House, Beijing, China.
