Thus, there is a need for promoting diversification by investing in processing, marketing and
institutional infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh. Considering the diversity of agricultural setting,
only a regionally differentiated approach to research, extension and infrastructure development
seems appropriate.

Erratic rainfall is a major problem for farming community. In 2021 there was heavy rainfall in
September -October. It leads to heavy loss of paddy crop during 2021 and late sowing of rabi
crop. In most part of area of Nalanda district major soil type is clay loam. It retains moisture
for longer duration and also leads to late sowing of rabi crops. In changing climatic condition
there is sudden rise in temperature during last week of February and heat wave started from
15-20 March and leads to premature drying of all rabi crops during 2022 and lead to heavy
reduction in yield. To overcome these adverse situations, we selected village Sherpur under
NICRA project of Nalanda District. In this village land situation is low, medium and upland.
In low land area there is water logged situation for few months(flood) and some upland area
comes under moisture stress also. According to land situation and climatic condition there are
four types of typologies as moisture stress with animal, irrigated with animal, irrigated without
animal and flooded with animal. We are conducting several interventions such as different
varieties of paddy, green gram, okra (Variety Kashi Lalima), Mushroom cultivation, backyard
poultry, fisheries, and papaya cultivation on the bund of ponds under NICRA project since
January 2022. It lead to increase in the income of the farmers and they are using different new
technologies i.e. ZT, brush cutter, bund maker, power weeders etc. We are introducing Zero
Institutional and policy innovations for accelerated and enhanced impacts
