Opportunities during 22-24, December 2022 at ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad
under maize-wheat cropping system with the corresponding highest values of net returns, B:C
ratio and RWUE of Rs. 44528ha -1 , 2.92, and 23.43 kgha -1 -mm, which was found statistically
at par with Gobhisarson having yield of 2362kgha -1 with the corresponding values of net
returns, B:C ratio and RWUE of Rs. 29640ha -1 , 2.74, and 21.12 kgha -1 -mm, respectively
under maize-gobhisarson cropping system. While the lowest wheat equivalent yield of 1587
kgha -1 was registered in oats (fodder) under maize-oats (fodder) system with net returns, B:C
ratio and RWUE of Rs. 15550ha -1 , 1.98, and 14.20 kgha -1 -mm, respectively. Tripathi et al.,
1998 reported similar findings of MEY in maize-based cropping sequence.
Conclusion
Based on one year preliminarily observation, it may be concluded that maize wheat system
was found to be superior among the other systems in terms of equivalent yield, net returns,
B:C ratio and rain water use efficiency under rainfed conditions of Jammu.

Rajmah (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is one of the most important pulse crops grown all over the
country. In Assam, it is an important prospective and profit-earning rabi crops more
particularly in Borak valley Zone of Assam. Due to presence of high amount of nutrients, it
is called as “king of nutrition”. It is grown for seed as well as green vegetable due to good
sources of vitamins and minerals. Generally, most of the pulse crops including rajmah are
grown as a mono crop in the farmer’s field. There is scope for intercropping in rajmah which
