Resident Spotlight – Linda Vetter
Linda was born December 19, 1945 to Harold and
Norma Miller in Aurora, NE. She is the oldest sibling
of 3. Her sisters are Kate Reeve and Sue Springer. Linda
attended high school and graduated in 1963. She was
very involved in the church and school. She was a cheerleader
for 3 years. Linda had a personal stock of 45 records
that were used for noon sock hops at the high school and
she was a volunteer dance instructor. Linda continued on
to college at the University of Nebraska but decided to
return home and enrolled at Kearney State College.
In 1966, Linda was married to Dan Vetter and moved
to Omaha in 1968. They had two children, Brett and
Amy. Linda was a stay at home mom and did work as a
noon aide at the elementary school. Dan taught one year
at Norfolk secondary schools and then went to work as
an underwriter at Mutual of Omaha where he is employed
still today. Linda used to enjoy playing cards and participated
in bunko, various crafts and attended her children’s athletic
events as well as other activities. An activity Linda enjoys
still today is playing Bingo with Dan here at the facility.
Just last month, Linda’s son, Brett got married to Kelli.
They were married in Papillion Manor’s chapel enabling
Linda to attend. It was a beautiful wedding that Papillion
Manor was honored to have part in. What a terrific
story!!!!! Thanks for sharing with us Linda.

National Volunteer Week
April 27th through May 3rd is National Volunteer Week. We would like to
say thank-you to all Papillion Manor volunteers who spend their time
with our residents. Both residents and staff benefit from the volunteers so we
thank you again for all you do.

Mary Marceau
With National Volunteer Week here, we thought we would recognize one
of our volunteers, Mary Marceau. She came to Nebraska from Washington
State and started coming to Papillion Manor 4 years ago. She has one daughter
in Papillion and a son in West Omaha. Mary
enjoys doing crafts, watching old reruns on
television and going on vacation. She just recently
went to Hawaii in April. Mary’s favorite holiday
is Halloween and enjoys spending time with
our residents. She helps with Bingo as well as
does Story Time Plus with Mary. She is a very
sincere, caring person whom the residents love.
We greatly appreciate her dedication to our
residents and cannot thank her enough for
everything she does. Thanks Mary!!!
