his much-hyped comeback
performance on
Sunday - six days after
being discharged from
a burn center following
a fiery accident that
seriously burned his
face, chest and hands.
The comedian, 72,
was driving up to The
Comedy & Magic Club
in Hermosa Beach, California
with wife Mavis
for his regular, evening
set when the rear right
tire of his Tesla collided
with a police Jeep
in front of scores of
onlookers.
Hearing the ominous
crash, the police officers could
be seen turning around startled
as the TV legend pulled up in
front of the club.
The star was filmed checking
with police if he had ‘hit their
tire’ with cops saying it was ‘no
big deal’, with no damage done
to either of the cars.
Jay, who was seriously burned
after an explosion from one of
his vintage cars set him alight,
looked happy and healthy as he
addressed the press, quipping:
‘Ah, the elephant man is here.’
