Issue 85
December 2022 and we are ploughing ahead with another JAM-PACKED issue. Over 100 NFTs, 8 articles,
content from Metaverse_ME and Barndog back in the mix and all your favourite bits and bobs of information.
Many thanks to those readers who have supported #SHILLzine by purchasing our NFTs. The pieces are originals
and made by Pixeltoy, publisher of #SHILL. Every little bit helps.
Major breakthroughs in the Solana space this week with a lot of Tweeps doxxing themselves after a year
running projects. In the end you have to wonder why so many choose not to dox in the first place. NFT values
did not increase or fall after the doxxing. Even ArteOvni doxxed and auctioned off a limited edition series -->
This issue brings back the #DAMswap section that launched on Dec 2. Around 30 NFT from the current offering
are included here for your consideration. A few of them have minted out due to their limited numbers. Others
are waiting for you to collect!
The editions section has a solid 30 NFTs that are currently available. A few of them #SHILL managed to buy for
the vault. EyeEyeMouthDes, BeverlyKills, YoboNinja and a fresh offering from Suga_Skies. #SHILL will definitely
add more throughout the #DAMswap event.
JoeMccann's piece is an interesting one this week as he gives an analogy to 'why crypto?' when talking with
your friends. I guess the difficult part is the waiting. Mass adoption before 2025 may be a pipedream with
many rises and falls to come. NEVER put into crypto what you cannot afford to lose. Simple.
To all the new readers who have come on board this last week, #SHILL hopes you enjoy the magazine and
spread the word to your friends. It looks like 10k views per week is within reach by the end of 2022.
Your support via retweets helps #SHILLzine reach a broader audience. Every retweet is greatly appreciated. It
has helped this magazine achieve 543,104 Views across 84 issues (last week's total was 533,941 - almost 10k
for the week!). That has to be something?
Ready to dive in?
#SHILLzine is INDEPENDENT. @Pixeltoy puts it together. The content used is IMPARTIAL. #SHILLzine neither
AGREES nor DISAGREES. It is presented in these pages as a reflection of the sentiment of the time. Sometimes
controversial. Sometimes exciting. It is presented in these pages so that YOU make your own mind up.
@Pixeltoy
#SHILLzine still has pieces listed for auction. Every little purchase helps make this magazine worthwhile. Listed
on both FF and Exchg. Proceeds go to helping this magazine grow and become better. All the World's a Stage
is live now https://exchange.art/pixeltoy/ and Do You See Me? https://formfunction.xyz/@Pixeltoy.sol/
The following pieces are what #SHILLzine collected over the past week.

DON’T RAFFLE YOUR SHIT OR BUY TICKETS BEFORE READING THIS. Everything you need to know about
@FamousFoxFed raffles. A thread.
A few days ago, I asked people if they wanted me to share my raffle strategy. And the response was overwhelmingly
positive. So, I will explain everything that I know from both buyer and seller perspectives.
Quote Tweet
@NFT_Doctor33
So, after my Mamba raffle ended. Decided to spend some Sol on raffles to understand the raffle market better.
These 2 are my wins during the last 2 days.
12
SHILL Issue #83

The seller’s perspective:
Buy a FFF or TFF and stake it.
- If you don’t do this your raffle will not be featured on FFF website which means you will get much less exposure.
- Also, holders only pay 2.5% per ticket sold and non-holders pay 5%.
Connect your Twitter
This is a security feature of FFF so that people cannot rig the system by buying their own tickets (well they still
can but they have a risk of being flagged) If you don’t connect people will be less likely to buy your tickets.
Be careful with raffle cycles!
Raffles easily get oversaturated. When people see that it became profitable for rafflers. They start to raffle too
soon after there are too many NFTs up for raffles and not enough buyers... Follow the trends and choose the
right time.
Total ticket value.
If you are raffling a floor your total ticket value should not be more expensive than 35% of the floor price. People
are not stupid. They are not going to pay 2x of the floor for your floor NFT (most of the time).
Raffling rare NFTs.
The look of the NFT is super important for your rare NFT raffles. Not everyone knows about the rarities of the
collection that you are raffling. It must be clean, and it must look rare.
SHILL Issue #83
13

Risk of losing.
Don’t forget there is a risk of not selling enough NFTs for your raffle. So don’t go all in with this and lose your
most valuable NFTs for nothing. Start with small NFTs and see how it goes then you can slowly try big ones.
The buyer’s perspective.
Don’t lose yourself!
Buying tickets could be quite addictive and you easily lose all your bags within a few days.
You will see 5-10 posts a day on CT winning and celebrating. And you can easily think that I wanna win too! But
that is called publication bias, you only see the winners on Twitter. People who lose it all generally don’t share it
on Twitter or get engagement.
Develop a strategy.
Here are some free tips from me:
A) Don’t buy tickets from overbought raffles. - If the ticket total value is 2x of the floor for a floor NFT and most of
the tickets are already sold don’t buy it there are better raffles out there.
B) Always check all raffles tab. Featured section only FFF/TFF holders rafflers, all raffles for everyone. So, if you
check all raffles, you will find raffles with better chances (because they are not featured much fewer ticket buyers
hence the chances of winning)
C) Bulk buying (not my favourite) If you are bulk buying (you can buy up to %20 of total tickets from one wallet)
wait for the last minute to put your bid in. Only bulk buy if the raffle has not sold enough tickets and your chances
of winning are good.
D) One ticket for all! (my favourite) To explain this I will give an example Imagine an NFT valued at 100 sol raffled
for 100 tickets for 1 sol each You can choose to buy 20 sol worth of tickets from this raffle (bulk buyer) And your
outcome would be either 0(lost) or 1(won)
14
SHILL Issue #83

Now imagine the same scenario but instead of buying 20 tickets from one raffle, you buy 1 ticket from 20 different
raffles with the same conditions (100 fp NFT, 100 tickets 1 sol per ticket). In this case, your outcome will be as
follows:
Raffle 1 outcome == 0(lost) or 1(won)
Raffle 2 outcome == 0 or 1
.
.
.
Raffle 20 outcome == 0 or 1
So, if you lose all 20 raffles it will be equivalent to losing one raffle that you paid 20 sol (bulk buying)
However, with this method, you have a slim chance of winning multiple raffles which you didn’t have with the
bulk buying method. I spent around 30 sol to buy one ticket last week and in return, I won 40 sol worth of NFTs.
I’m not saying this method has a 100% success rate, but if you don’t have the time to do last-minute bulk bids,
statistically speaking this is a much better method for you.
Final thoughts:
Currently, we are in a raffle meta. The main driver of this meta-IMO, is the Solana prices. Bc Solana price is super
low atm people don’t really care about the few dollars that they spend on gambling.
However, if this continues like this, I expect the raffle market the oversaturated again which will result in rafflers
losing money and fewer raffles per day due to high risk.
For our next evaluatorrrr thread, let’s look at another one of Solana’s top projects, @stonedapecrew, on today
the eve of their 1st anniversary. These guys are one of OG Solana projects and their longevity is testament to
their success.
1. Vital statistics Name: Stoned Ape Crew. Stats at the time of writing:
2. Founder(s) & Links
Headed by a crack team including @pfo_sac, with art by @stoner0015, and head dev MSF. Links: https://
stonedapecrew.com https://docs.stonedapecrew.com
3. Genre/ type
Interesting one this. On the surface they are a community lifestyle brand based on, well, cannabis. Scratch the
surface, though, and they are a tech company par excellence.
4. Trading potential
Strong: Plenty of fluctuation, traits and rarity with bespoke trading potential. Also a good hodl, with staking for
their $puff token amongst other benefits.
5. Recent price action (NEW)
The pump recently could be explained by market correction after Solana’s woes, however there’s no doubt the
floor is healthy given the conditions. Listings this low: a green flag.
50
SHILL Issue #83

6. Utility
Seen as one of the original ‘builders’ of Sol. They pioneered staking, earning the $puff token which powers their
ecosystem. Merch, irl events, gameified rescue missions, and more. They also have several powerful tech products,
including @PuffProtocol (NB - @puffprotocol is a Web3 based payment system, not unlike that that has
been developed by @helionsNFT)
SHILL Issue #83
51

7. Market resilience.
Strong. Recent price action demonstrates that in turbulent times, people return to trusted projects who are proven
builders. That sums up @stonedapecrew well.
8. USP/ X-factor
A weed based lifestyle brand and a tech powerhouse? Not everyone’s cup of (hash) tea, but clearly they have a
niche and it works for them. But I think their true USP is community, as the next tweet demonstrates:
SAC sub DAOs include:
@StonedApeArtDAO
@SAC_farmers
@SAC_Scientists
@AstroHelmetSAC
and there’s probably more. These guys and gals were subDAOing long before it was a trend.
9. Conclusion
TL:DR: @Stonedapecrew are one of the Solana OGs. Some would call them blue-chip. Tech, weed, community (@
stonedapefam will be able to help you there). They’ve got it all!
Does AI art “count” as art ??
Common arguments against the validity of AI art:
> “it requires no skill”
> “anyone who can string words together can create full compositions quickly”
> “it is ‘cheating’; the machine does the work for you”
> “it requires no creativity” I took a poll to gauge sentiment:
Quote Tweet
@subaruimpreza09
How valid is AI art as an artistic medium on a scale of 1-10? (10 = just as valid as painting, drawing, sculpture,
etc.)
It’s true that anyone can make AI art. But anyone can make a drawing too. What separates museum drawings
from fridge drawings is quality and concept. There are distinct differences between high and low quality AI art
that are easier to spot as you interact with it more.
Over time, AI art will become more and more commonplace in our society, meaning everyone
will have somewhat of a trained eye to see these differences. Extreme quality disparity
is easily spotted, however. (L) a quick prompt I typed versus (R) @NeuromindArt’s art
SHILL Issue #83
53

A machine can create a full artistic composition very quickly. Does that bother you? Use photography as a familiar
example. > A photo takes a split second to capture. But knowing your camera’s features, planning a composition,
and editing are where the real work comes in.
Knowing your camera’s technical features + planning a composition is analogous to learning how to feed the AI to
get an output that matches what an artist is envisioning You have to understand the nuances of the AI in order for
it to really work for you.
Editing is analogous to re-working and touching up AI compositions An AI artist may iterate through hundreds of
prompts, tweaking until they get the piece they are satisfied with (L): a peony garden on top of a hill (R): a peony
garden on top of a hill in the sunlight
54
SHILL Issue #83

Details don’t come out of thin air. To achieve the detail
(or even intentional minimalism) necessary to create truly
compelling AI art, an artist’s imagination must dictate
all the necessary components.
Our society is becoming increasingly technologically advanced.
Art reflects society and society reflects art.
Unique things that AI art brings to the table: > Visualizing
the art of creative linguistics > Visualizing the art of
human-machine interaction > Exceptionally large range
in the variety of outputs
AI art will only get harder to distinguish from handmade
as time goes on -- how can we be at peace with that? My
prediction is that the question will be less about “is this
AI art or not?” but “is this high quality or not?” much like
we do with other art mediums.
I’ll leave you with this: Kant (famous philosopher) defines
fine art as “a kind of representation that is purposive in
itself and, though without an end, nevertheless promotes
the cultivation of the mental powers for sociable
communication” “immanuel kant picasso style”
Placing certain phrases, punctuation, and syntax in a
prompt changes the output. As AI artists experiment,
they learn how to capitalize on these nuances. In a
way, they are “trained” by the AI much like the AI is
trained. (L) - the sun in a box (R) - the sun inside of a
box
P.S. I made the AI art for this thread with @midjourney
-- I would 100% recommend trying it.
Kakashiisol
1. acquiring skills: this is the time to learn some skills. Pick a niche and work on it. It can be video editing, technical
analysis, development. Learn it as best you can and try to look for paid work. Solana has great programs and
initiatives for devs.
2. building connections: “your network is your net worth” couldn’t be truer for web3. Talk to people, build connections,
talk to founders, and take this time to absorb all the knowledge you can. These people are freer in a
bear than in a bull so take advantage of that fact.
3. self-improvement: web3 can be stressful at times. Take this time to reflect on whatever trades you’ve made,
why some took off and why some didn’t. Look at things from an unbiased perspective and understand why you
made certain mistakes.
apart from that, also take some time off if you need to. Practice meditation and clear your mind. This space for
all its merit, can become very narrow sometimes. It has a way of sucking you in and it can become all you think
about.
Take a deep breath and focus on the things important to you: your family, the people you love. Some time away
from this space might give you a sense of clarity which will in turn lead to better decisions in the long term.
4. picking the right plays: now this is the trickiest part but the part which will keep us all sane. We have all gotten
used to seeing numbers which are almost unachievable in the bear. If you keep yearning for the same magnitude
of gains, you will get rekt.
Accepting that we are in a bear is the first step to making profit. Timing and conviction are the key elements
when looking to making trades. These two qualities are paramount. If we look at a project that has made people
considerable gains, there is much to learn.
I will probably do that in a different thread since that is not the objective here. Understanding that every mint
you do will not 2x like it did earlier is very important. Cash grabs have gone down every single day and I think
investors are becoming smarter.
At least that’s what I think anyways, don’t know if it’s true. Be more selective and critical with your $SOL, don’t
waste it because it’s at 14$, I’m sure a lot of you (me included) bought much higher. Analyze projects and be very
choosy with what you invest in.
Most of all, don’t lose your mind and keep yourself happy. Nothing else really matters anyway.
@joemccann
This morning I got the same question @mdudas got from a mutual friend about what I›d say to 100 of the world›s largest
asset managers as to why crypto will be a $10T asset class.
My response was to use “storytelling by analogy.”
See below.
Remember what music was like in the 1990s? You would go to Tower Records or your local music shop, and buy a CD, in
some cases, in an oversized cardboard box, you’d get maybe 12-14 tracks of music, and the cost was around $16.
This model served the near monopoly that a handful of powerful record labels had, but it also controlled how music was
selected and, most importantly, how music was *distributed*.
Eventually, “the people” wanted more - a broader selection of artists, new genres of music, and, again, most importantly,
easier *access* to said music, all the while driving the costs significantly lower.
Enter Napster.
Technologists had figured out how to disintermediate music distribution by leveraging software and the internet. In essence,
the people had “had enough” of the status quo for the music industry and found a clever way of disrupting it - software.
Since then, the music industry has become largely unrecognizable.
At first, the music industry *ignored* P2P networks like Napster.
Then they mocked it (Metallica’s Lars Ulrich on the 2000 MTV Music Awards Napster PSA).
Then they fought it tooth and nail, implicating 12-year-old kids in lawsuits.
cnn.com/2003/TECH/inte…
Then, they ultimately adopted streaming which now makes more money for the music industry than ever - $25.1B alone in
2021.
The gist of the story here is that an industry, the music industry, became *digitally enabled* and is now a fundamentally
126 SHILL Issue #83

different business altogether.
What happened to the music industry is what is happening to finance. And how big is the finance market? That market is the market
of MONEY.
Whereas the music industry is a sub $75B market, tiny compared to other industries, the market of money is literally all of money,
hundreds of trillions of dollars.
Cryptoassets are *digitally enabling* money. There has never been a market so massive and so ripe for disruption.
There is no market greater than the market of all money.
Banks, like record labels, have had a near monopoly on financial services and money for decades.
The people want something different. Enter Bitcoin. A technologist or a group of technologists invented Bitcoin and, since then,
myriad other cryptoassets and networks. Finance has been the last major industry to truly become disrupted by software and digital
transformation; crypto is the wedge into digitally enabling money. The current total market cap of crypto is less than $1T.
If you assume the market cap of money is $1000T (this includes investments and derivatives), then if crypto captures just 1% of this,
$10T is a reasonable target for its future market cap.
Any questions?
Now recall, the question was how would I “articulate to a group of 100 of the world’s largest asset managers...” -- this means I need
to convince/coerce/sell them.
You can disagree with the approach or the math or nitpick certain aspects of the thread but that misses the point.
The art of storytelling is an incredibly undervalued skill for selling in crypto. Using pure logic or ideology (e.g., Bitcoin Maximalism)
tunes most people out, especially those who are seeking understanding of how *big* a market is.

@iamkadense
What’s going on with Polygon? Claim’s of Solana’s successor already declared auto-Matic winner. Let’s take a deeper dive
in comparing the two chains. It’s time for a Pengu.
As a bit of background, I was a power user of Polygon when defi farming. There were rich reward incentives w/ Matic
and used AAVE, Sushi and Curve there. It was cheaper, faster and smoother experience than defi farming on ETH L1.
Business Development (BD) team at Polygon has been crushing it w/ their web2 client wins. With each new big brand
they get in partnership, easier the next one is. This reduces career risk for web3 initiatives. There used to be a business
saying, no one gets fired for buying IBM

Specifically, for NFTs, there was a great success with the Reddit launch of “digital collectibles” that onboard 3M
users into wallets called vaults. The marketing trick for onboarding was avoiding the term NFT.
The 3 million user headline is eye popping. It’s no wonder everyone’s favorite largest marketplace on Solana has
just added on Polygon as their 3rd chain. IF there is traction on Polygon for NFTs, ME wants to be there.
Quote Tweet
@MagicEden
1/ @0xPolygon @MagicEden Today, we’re continuing our multi-chain vision by adding Polygon as our 3rd chain!
We can’t wait to partner w/ world-class game developers, creators, & everyday brands joining web3. Read more:
http://bit.ly/3VAeDuj Our launch partners
Polygon’s business development team has been actively recruiting projects on Solana for partnerships and potential
migration over. Here is one announcement from @catalinawhales partnering with both ME and Polygon.
Predict more of this to come. https://twitter.com/0xPolygon/status/1595229229276348417?s=20&t=cj3SzHgN-
3vn64sXLsa2r-g…
This Tweet was deleted by the Tweet author.
It seems the writing is on the wall. With FTX / Alameda blow up and our Altruist SBF’s plan to positively change
the world ruined, Solana is going to be killed by Polygon. It’s over. All the Web2 Wins + Targeted focus on our
NFTs, how will Solana Survive?
Or is it ...
First let’s look at the tech differences: Trilemma Tradeoffs in crypto are between Security, Scalability and Decentralization
How does Polygon do? Polygon is NOT a L2 . It is currently a side chain to ETH until it launches its
zkEVM solution. Why is this important?
As a sidechain, it does NOT have the same security or settlement assurances as a L2 rollup on ETH. As a result, it
is important to explore the strengths of the chain itself since it is not the same as ETH. It ranks lower than ETH on
security. How does it do against SOL?
Both SOL and Polygon are Proof of Stake chains. One important metric of security is the Nakamoto Coefficient.
This represents the lowest number of validators to censor the network. The higher the number, the more secure.
As of August, Solana is 10x HIGHER than Polygon’s N.C.
SHILL Issue #83
129

These don’t appear to matter because Polygon keeps
winning the Web2 relationships so usage is dominating
on chain. Right? Let’s unpack the volume on the top 3
marketplaces for Solana vs Polygon. Sol has ~18x more
volume with 3x more users.
If they give up on security in trilemma, it must be
because they are better at their scaling solution. Right?
According to https://realtps.net, the TPS for Solana is
a 11x FASTER rate than Polygon. A 10x improvement in
scaling solution would still put them behind Solana.
Maybe Polygon needs developers to help? ETH has the
developer lead, but Solana ecosystem is on their way.
If you look close at the bottom, you can see cluster of
other chains. Below Cardano... is Polygon.
If we take a comparison for the top 5 projects on both
Solana vs Polygon, the 3rd project on SOL - SMBs has
2x higher volume than the top 5 projects on Polygon
COMBINED.
Thesis is that NFT is culture on-chain. Chains have tried to
port away from SOL like NEAR, AVAX and APTOS. All have
failed. Culture is not so easily moved. If Polygon is EVM, why
haven’t they taken share from ETH NFTs? If you think it’s
easy, I got a bridge to sell you.
Now I do want to call out @solana, Polygon Business Development
and Marketing is killing us in the game. While
tech and user advantage is there for SOL, why not level the
playing field w/ big investment in Business Development?
Absolutely no reason why SOL can’t have these Ws.
What does this look combined? Here is a chart comparing
SOL vs Polygon over the last year. RED is Solana. Yellow
is hard to see. https://theblock.co/data/nft-non-fungible-tokens/nft-overview/nft-trade-volume-by-chain…
TLDR: Polygon vs SOL 1. Web2 Victories 2. Less Security 3.
Less Speed 4. Difficult Tech Scaling 5. Not more reliable 6.
Past Fatal Security Risks 7. Less Developers 8. Less Economic
Usage 9. NFTs are sticky on SOL and not easily ported 10.
Solana BD needs BIG improvement
Tagging some of solana leadership for added visibilty on
Polygon’s targeted push for Sol’s NFT community and need
for improved BD wins/marketing is critical post FTX narra
Critics may say Polygon is focused and spending money,
they will be able to port over the community. Possible
but... There’s no guarantees. SOL NFT market is a moat.
Even w/ a large fund, AVAX was unsuccessful in capturing
NFT market.
Avalanche Commits $290M in AVAX to Attract Gaming,
DeFi and NFT ‘Subnets’
I can’t recall the last time I saw someone using an AVAX
NFT but wanted to confirm on-chain the conclusion that
$290M fund was unsuccessful for AVAX vs SOL. Outside
of the spike in Q1, NFT volume for AVAX has all but gone
away.

Everyone’s been FUD’ing #Solana to death lately, so I decided to drop 15 cold hard facts about $SOL you should
know about.. Let’s correct the narrative with data, shall we?
Daily Transactions vs Top L1s: More transactions happen every day on Solana than any other Layer 1.. period. In
fact, SOL pumps out more daily transactions than all of the competing L1s combined
Daily Active Addresses vs Top L1s: Solana comes in 3rd place, this is an interesting trend to watch. NFT trading
behavior may lend itself to less daily activity, as opposed to DeFi-heavy chains. Either way, respect to Polygon for
creating daily user habits.
Current Price Since April 2021: Solana’s price has dropped quite a bit since its peak, but overall is holding value
quite well vs other L1s. Reminder that timing is everything in investing.
Solan KPIs L12 Months: Transactions recovering, TPS on fire due to network upgrades, revenue/fees recovering,
4X growth in active programs (indicator of future growth), dApps exploding, NFTs absolutely on fire, amongst top
3 most decentralized PoS chains.. Data, not opinions.
Solana TVL: Not great to see TVL drop off so fast, particularly with DeFi competition heating up. TVL can be sticky,
but possible that @jump_firedancer will lure some of this TVL back in 12-16 months as DeFi users look for higher
frequency capabilities. Time will tell.
Solana Decentralization: One of the most common misconceptions I hear repeatedly - Solana is the 2nd most
decentralized PoS chain behind ETH. Share this with some SOL haters - the facts are the facts people!
Solana Dev Growth: Absolutely on fire 2nd most devs behind ETH, growing at an absolutely epic pace. All of the
investment in @hackerhouses and the work of the DevRel team (led by @therealchaseeb) is clearly working.
144
SHILL Issue #83

Solana Daily Code Commits: Slowing down, but significantly better than other top L1st that have seen developer
activity fall off of a cliff. Solana is the #3 chain in terms of daily Github commits (and growing fast..)
..for context, ETH has had only 682 commits whereas Solana has had 3,750 (+450%) over the same period. You
can’t put TOO much into this, as not all commits are equal, but it’s good context for those wondering why Solana
network stability has improved so drastically as of late.
How do devs feel about SOL after recent events? One word – bullish. This poll indicates that devs are not scared
off despite the overwhelming FUD circulating. Devs are here to stay, building the future on Solana
Where are the Solana devs building?: They’re sticking with Solana, but poking around.. This is to be expected.
Devs are a curious bunch, would be foolish to assume they’d be 100% all-in on Solana exclusively, but strong dev
retention is a massively bullish sign.
146
SHILL Issue #83

Solana Developer NPS: Solana devs are not only joining at an epic pace, they’re recruiting other devs! Referrals
are a strong indicator that dev PMF is here - this provides a competitive advantage over other L1s who need to
spend more money attracting devs.
Solana Consumer NPS: Not only do devs love building on Solana, but so do consumers who actually use the
products within the Solana ecosystem. Dev + Consumer NPS = Network Effects are about to explode on Solana
next bull run.
SHILL Issue #83
Solana FTX Exposure: Solana is not FTX Sure, FTX heavily invested in the ecosystem, but many did not have direct
exposure. Of those that were impacted (such as Serum), they’ve already been forked and are being rebuilt by the
community. SOL is now more decentralized.
Solana NFTs: NFT sales continue to grow, despite a nasty bear market. By this time next year, it’s possible Solana
will flip ETH on NFT sales and never look back. Amazing progress in such a short period of time. Solana is still in
beta people!
All the above data came from @invest_answers who puts in so much hard work and produces (IMO) some of the
best content in crypto.
