The command's Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who revealed this, said the suspects, Idowu Abel, Clement Adeniyi and Felix Ajadi, were arrested, following a report lodged at Owode Yewa Divisional Headquarters, on November 15, 2022. The police image maker noted that the elder brother of the victim, Oluwaseyi Adekunle, reported to the police that his younger brother left home on the 10th of November 2022 and didn't return. Upon the report, the DPO of the division, CSP Mohammed Baba, detailed his detectives to unravel the mystery behind the sudden disappearance of the man. In the course of their investigation, it was discovered that Idowu Abel was the person who came to pick the missing man from his house on that fateful day. Upon the discovery, the said Idowu Abel was traced and arrested. On interrogation, Idowu Abel confessed that the victim, who happened to be his bosom friend, was lured out by him and taken to his second accomplice, Clement Adeniyi's farm, where he was killed and butchered to pieces. "He confessed further that it was one herbalist, who was introduced to him by Pastor Felix Ajadi, that requested for human head, heart, two hands and legs." He stated further that the said herbalist, who is now at large, promised to pay him the sum of N200,000 if he was able to get the listed human parts for him. He explained further that the herbalist paid N80,000 as advance payment with the promise to pay the balance of N120,000 on receiving the items. After collecting the advance payment, Idowu Abel went to his bosom friend, Muyiwa Adekunle, and asked him to escort him somewhere. "Being a long-time friend, the victim who didn't suspect any foul play followed him innocently, and he was taken to the farm of Clement Adeniyi where they killed him and dismembered his body. His head was cut off, the heart was also removed." The remaining parts were hurriedly buried in a shallow grave in the said farm. His confession led to the arrest of Clement Adeniyi and Pastor Felix Ajadi, while the herbalist who was simply identified as Abeeb a.k.a Boko has taken to flight. Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Homicide section of the state Criminal Investigation Departments for discreet investigation. Corpse of 16-yr-old Bayelsa girl found in hotel wardrobe By Samuel Oyadongha YENAGOA—THE coastal town of Twon Brass, in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, was thrown into confusion, yesterday, following the discovery of the corpse of a teenage girl in a hotel wardrobe. The 16-year-old deceased was identified as Miss Nengi Enenimiete, an indigene of the area. Vanguard learned that the corpse, which had started decomposing and emitting foul smell, was discovered by the manager of the hotel. It was, however, learned that the deceased corpse showed no signs of physical injuries, mutilation or strangulation. Indigenes of the coastal town are said to be demanding an autopsy and arrest LAGOS—A 45-year-old man, Kayode Abiodun, was, yesterday, docked at an Ikorodu Magistrate’s Court, in Lagos State, for allegedly beating up his mother. Abiodun faced a four-count charge of assault, wilful damage and threat to life. He pleaded not guilty to the charge. The prosecutor, Insp. Ahmed Sanni, told the court that Abiodun beat his mother up on September 5, at her residence at No 3, Omobowale Olowu Close, in Igbogbo area of Ikorodu. of a male guest with the deceased. The deceased was allegedly introduced to the yet-to-be-identified male guest on Saturday by her friend and lodged at the hotel. The male guest was said to have checked out on Sunday. A source from Twon Brass community said: "When the manager arrived and checked the room. He saw that it was messed up and asked the cleaner to tidy it up for another guest." The cleaner did but they noticed water dripping on the tiles from another part of the room. While they were checking the room, they were perceiving a foul smell and started searching for the source. They later discover the lifeless body of the deceased in the wardrobe. The girl identified as the link between her and the yet-to-be-identified male guest has been reportedly arrested. Contacted, Spokesman of the state police command, Mr Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incident. He said: "On 21st November 2022 the manager of a hotel in Twon Brass, reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Brass, that he perceived an offensive odour from one of the rooms in the hotel, upon a search he discovered a lifeless female corpse hidden inside a wardrobe." The deceased was later identified as Nengi Enenimiete 'f' aged 16. An investigation is ongoing to identify the suspects who lodge in the hotel room on the night of the incident. He said the offences contravened the Criminal Laws of Lagos State (2015). The presiding magistrate, Mrs T.A. Shotobi, granted Abiodun bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. Shotobi ruled that one of the sureties must be a blood relation of the defendant. She adjourned the case till Dec. 1 for mention. When contacted, the Chairman of Nigerian Medical Association NMA Cross River state, Dr Felix Archibong, confirmed that the two doctors have also been released as he spoke with both of them in the early hours of the day. He commended Governor Ben Ayade for the swift response and also security agencies including the police , Army and the other sister agencies for a job well done . "I spoke with two of my members , Dr Omini and Dr Egon , they have been released , they were released at about 2 00: 00 am on Tuesday ," he said . The spokesman of the Adamawa Police Command, Suleiman Nguroje, yesterday, in Yola, disclosed that the suspect was alleged to have raped his victim, a 13-year-old girl, last week, in Sangere Jabbi-Lamba, in Girei Local Government Area of the state. The suspect was said to have lured OPERATIVES of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have raided the club house in the elite Golf Estate of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, following a tip-off. Vanguard gathered that two persons were arrested at the estate club house, operated by a private contractor, after an alleged recovery of a cache of a dangerous recreational drug, known as Ice or Meth or Mkpuru Mmiri, in their possession. It was gathered that on the same night, the Anti-Fraud Unit of the Rivers State Police Command arrested four young men at an apartment, Block B32 within the estate on suspicion of fraud. An operative of NDLEA, who spoke to Vanguard on condition of anonymity, explained that the once exclusive estate has become a safe haven for miscreants, drug addicts, fraudsters and prostitutes who deploy Block B32 and several other apartments within the estate as short let accommodation to carry out their nefarious activities. He hinted that further raids would be carried out in the estate to rid the once idyllic environment of undesirable elements. Officials of the estate association, were not immediately available to comment on the development at press time. IDENTICAL twins, Taiwo and Kehinde Olude, are among seven graduands that will be awarded first class degrees at the 8th Convocation ceremony of Glorious Vision University, GVU (formerly known as Samuel Adegboyega University), Ogwa, in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State. ROAD CRASH: 54 die in 2 separate auto accidents By Charly Agwam, Ndahi Marama & Fortune Eromosele IT was a harvest of death, yesterday, as about 54 people died in two separate accidents along Maiduguri-Damaturu road in Borno State and Kwali- Abaji highway, Abuja, while many were injured. About 37 people were reportedly burnt beyond recognition in the road accident that involved two Toyota Hi-Ace buses and one VolksWagen Golf saloon car along Maiduguri-Damaturu road, close to Jakana village in Borno State. Zonal Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Zone 12 (Bauchi, Yobe and Borno States), Assistant Corps Marshal •37 burnt to death along Maiduguri- Damaturu road •17 dead, 4 injured in Kwali-Abaji highway crash Rotimi Adeleye, who disclosed this in Bauchi, said: "This is to intimate you of very fatal crashes at about 10am today (22/11/22) that occurred this morning along Maiduguri to Damaturu road, very close to a village called Jakana. "Three vehicles were involved (Toyota Hi-Ace buses and a VolksWagen Golf saloon car). So far, 37 persons have been confirmed dead, eight injured and most of them burnt beyond recognition." The FRSC deployed men for the rescue and has also liaised with the Borno State Commissioner of Police to obtain a court order for the mass burial of the victims, who were burnt beyond recognition. "The Fire Service were also alerted, as one of the three vehicles involved was still burning, as of this time. The injured have been taken to the General Hospital in Maiduguri and the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, UMTH. "The Toyota Hi-Ace buses were coming in opposite directions. One had its tyre burst and had a head-on collision, which resulted in the fire. The Golf, coming from behind, ran into them. "Excessive overspeeding is the major cause. This was very avoidable." Also, yesterday, the FRSC confirmed that 17 persons were killed, while four others were injured in an auto crash on Kwali- Abaji Road, before Awawa in the FCT. The Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, in a statement in Abuja, said the crash which occurred at about 6:30 a.m. involved two vehicles – a DAF Trailer and a Toyota Bus. He said that the 22 persons involved in the accident were all males, adding that the injured victims were provided first aid treatment by rescue workers before being taken to the hospital. “Out of 22 victims, four persons sustained various degrees of injury, 17 died while one was rescued without any injury. Meanwhile, the Borno Police Command, yesterday, also confirmed the death of two policemen in an auto crash in which 17 others were injured on Monday along Hawan Kibo road in Plateau while the policemen were en route Uyo for the 2022 Police Games. The command Public Relations Officer, Sani Shatambaya, said that the contingent was to represent Zone 15 comprising Borno and Yobe commands at the Biannual Police Games in Uyo, Akwa Ibom. The spokesman said that the accident occurred due to brake failure, adding that those who died were female constables. "The Commissioner of Police, Borno Command, regrets the unfortunate accident, noting that the persons who lost their lives and the injured victims have been conveyed back to Maiduguri,” he added.
