MATERIAL FLOW
The material flow is a sequence of processes ranging from the extraction of
raw material via its processing, reprocessing and machining up to the
finished product and its delivery to the end consumer.
CLOSE THE LOOP
Closing the loop means circulating products to keep them in use for as
long as possible, rather than throwing them away. In contrast to the old
take-make-waste model, in a closed-loop economy everything is shared,
mended, reused, or recycled. Thus, there is no waste produced.
REPURPOSE
Repurposing means using something for a different purpose than the one it
was originally made for. It simply means giving a new purpose / a second
life to an old product.
RECOMMERCE
Recommerce is the selling of previously owned items through an online
marketplace. In the context of circular economy, recommerce reffers to
brand owned resale activities, which protect the brand’s reputation and
authentication, generate profits on the same products multiple times and
help build customer retention and loyalty.
