Yes, there you have our catchwords about O-Ringen Åre 2023. And you are
welcome to the mountains next summer. We promise that you will make
many wonderful memories and enjoy what you experience here.

rganizing a giant event like
O-Ringen in a small village like
Åre is not easy. But we have been
planning this for many years and
now we think we have a concept that all of
you who love orienteering and O-Ringen
will like. I know it will not be like Uppsala or
Norrköping. It will be different and different
is often good. Those of you who visited
O-Ringen Sälen in 2008 and 2016 know
what I am talking about. I must admit that
I was sceptical before I ran in Sälen 2016.
What would the community be like when
we all stayed in apartments and cottages?
What would it be like to stay maybe 10–20
kilometres from O-Ringen square? The answer
to that question is that it went perfectly
well. That is why we now dare to arrange a
different O-Ringen Åre next summer.
The accommodation part has been a
difficult nut to crack but a lot of work has
been put in and I think all clubs will have to
put in a little more work than before to find
accommodation. But there are plenty of accommodations
for everyone. And there will
be an O-Ringen camping! Maps, courses,
and the terrain will truly be an experience.
For the first time, a group of Norwegian
organizing clubs have been involved in
planning. All our course setters are from
Norway and what a job they have put in.
The pandemic, early snow, late spring, two
cancelled stages and much else have made
the work more challenging. But believe
me, there will be fantastic courses and nice
terrain for everyone next summer in Åre.
Together with all the voulenteers, I welcome
you to Jämtland and Åre next summer.
