Qualifications duo
merge to offer
greater choice to
academic clients
AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group
has merged with Open College Network
West Midlands to form a much larger,
stronger organisation that is now
developing qualifications and awarding
certificates to learners in schools, colleges,
training providers and centres across the
UK.
With over 80 years’ experience of
developing high-quality regulated
qualifications for the education and training
sector between them, the AIM Group is now
a leading Awarding Organisation and, more
recently, a registered End-Point Assessment
Organisation (EPAO).
The two organisations, both based in the
Midlands, now operate under the AIM
Qualifications and Assessment Group name.
The merger means that colleges, centres,
and training providers now have access to
almost 600 regulated qualifications for their
learners, and employers will have an
expanded network of support when looking
for an end-point assessment organisation
for their apprentices.
College lands top
digital award
City of Wolverhampton College has won a
prestigious national award for its
commitment to empowering students,
apprentices and staff to develop their
digital skills.
The college beat off tough competition
from three other further education colleges
to be crowned FE College of the Year at
the national Edufuturists Awards 2022, in
June.
Since 2020, the college has embraced
the use of the national Inspiring Digital
Enterprise Award (iDEA) programme, which
enables participants to complete online
challenges to earn digital badges, with
students and apprentices achieving over
86,000 badges to date.

VOiD, an agency which started
out as an idea in the minds of
four graduates from
Wolverhampton University, has
blossomed into one of the city’s
leading digital dgencies.
The company, which originally
started as VOiD Games, releasing
mobile games on the iOS and
Google Play App Stores, now
boasts a vast portfolio that
weaves in and out of many
different sectors, with clients such
as Cox & Plant, Carwood Brise,
Ritchie, Aproderm & Skinny Dips.

The Walsall-based company has been
family-owned since 1945, with the fourth
