Qualifications duo<br />

merge to <strong>of</strong>fer<br />

greater choice to<br />

AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group<br />

has merged with Open College Network<br />

West Midlands to form a much larger,<br />

stronger organisation that is now<br />

developing qualifications and awarding<br />

certificates to learners in schools, colleges,<br />

training providers and centres across the<br />

UK.<br />

With over 80 years’ experience <strong>of</strong><br />

developing high-quality regulated<br />

qualifications for the education and training<br />

sector between them, the AIM Group is now<br />

a leading Awarding Organisation and, more<br />

recently, a registered End-Point Assessment<br />

Organisation (EPAO).<br />

The two organisations, both based in the<br />

Midlands, now operate under the AIM<br />

Qualifications and Assessment Group name.<br />

The merger means that colleges, centres,<br />

and training providers now have access to<br />

almost 600 regulated qualifications for their<br />

learners, and employers will have an<br />

expanded network <strong>of</strong> support when looking<br />

for an end-point assessment organisation<br />

for their apprentices.<br />

College lands top<br />

digital award<br />

City <strong>of</strong> Wolverhampton College has won a<br />

prestigious national award for its<br />

commitment to empowering students,<br />

apprentices and staff to develop their<br />

digital skills.<br />

The college beat <strong>of</strong>f tough competition<br />

from three other further education colleges<br />

to be crowned FE College <strong>of</strong> the Year at<br />

the national Edufuturists Awards 2022, in<br />

June.<br />

Since 2020, the college has embraced<br />

the use <strong>of</strong> the national Inspiring Digital<br />

Enterprise Award (iDEA) programme, which<br />

enables participants to complete online<br />

challenges to earn digital badges, with<br />

students and apprentices achieving over<br />

86,000 badges to date.<br />

distribution across 70 countries over the<br />

Filling the VOiD for<br />

a decade<br />

Celebrating 10 years in business,<br />

VOiD, an agency which started<br />

out as an idea in the minds <strong>of</strong><br />

four graduates from<br />

Wolverhampton University, has<br />

blossomed into one <strong>of</strong> the city’s<br />

leading digital dgencies.<br />

The company, which originally<br />

started as VOiD Games, releasing<br />

mobile games on the iOS and<br />

Google Play App Stores, now<br />

boasts a vast portfolio that<br />

weaves in and out <strong>of</strong> many<br />

different sectors, with clients such<br />

as Cox & Plant, Carwood Brise,<br />

Ritchie, Aproderm & Skinny Dips.<br />

<strong>of</strong> products can be used in a multitude <strong>of</strong><br />

applications, from commercial vehicles<br />

through to aerospace.<br />

The Walsall-based company has been<br />

family-owned since 1945, with the fourth<br />

generation still involved today.<br />

Championing innovation and forward<br />

thinking has allowed Albert Jagger to<br />

maintain its position as market leaders by<br />

using the latest technologies and<br />

equipment to develop the next generation<br />

<strong>of</strong> hardware.<br />

As well as working with the in-house<br />

design and manufacturing team, Albert<br />

Jagger works with some <strong>of</strong> the biggest<br />

suppliers in the world <strong>of</strong> components and<br />

fittings, including Bansbach, Kommerling<br />
